Cameron Carter Student Council News
The student council would
like to say thank you to all
who donated at the recent
blood drive. At the blood
drive on January 9th there
were 27 units of blood do-
nated. There were a few
students unable to donate
due to low iron. Everyone
that wants to donate needs
to make sure that they eat
well and drink plenty of flu-
ids before the donation
date. Raisins and beef are
both a good way to up your
iron levels.

Book Review Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult is an intense story of how Sterling’s
high school becomes a war zone. Peter Houghton has been bullied for
years and now he has snapped. His old friend, Josie Cormier, was
spared, and now she is left to wonder with the rest of the town. Her
mother resides over the case and focuses on work more than her
home life. Everything changes in only a matter of nineteen minutes.
This is a beautifully written and touching book that I would
recommend to every book fanatic.

Movie Review This months movie review is a Netflix classic. Death-row guard
Paul Edgecomb and his kind-hearted colleagues on E block’s
Green Mile have their routine disrupted by new inmates, a
friendly mouse, a maliciously unprofessional coworker, and a
series of supernatural events. The Green Mile tells several hu-
man stories, all of them touched by E block’s new tenant, John
Coffey, a hulking black man accused of killing twin girls. The
more his captors get to know this gentle giant, the more they’re
convinced of his innocence. John soon displays a miraculous gift
of healing, creating internal conflict for the men who must over-
see his execution.
I give this movie a five out of five stars because it is tear jerk-
ing and emotional. It is a great movie to watch on Netflix or Am-
azon. You will see things each time you watch it that you
missed the first time you saw it.
