As part of the festivities the Club will host a Chili Cook-Off! (Really just asneaky, thinly disguised ploy to have members donate enough chili to feed the masses)

However… All contestants will receive a one-of-a-kind Official CBC ChiliCook-Off Tee Shirt (CBC logo will probably change to the old CBC logo if the appropriate

art work becomes available)

Also, the Winner will receive a $25 gift card to a LBS (Local Bike Shop).WOOHOO! The Winner will be determined by a crack judging team

randomly selected from the CBC masses.

Chili Cook-Off Rules…

1. Each participant must furnish a crockpot full of Chili2. Crockpot must be filled with a minimum of 4 QUARTS homemade,

mouthwatering Chili. Any style of Chili, any ingredient will beallowed. (Even pasta! Oh…the horror!)

3. Contestants limited to the first 8 CBC members that volunteer4. If (for some unfathomable reason) 8 members do not volunteer, Executive

Board Members and/or their families will be allowed (strongly encouraged,brow-beaten even) to compete.

After two rain postponements, Monday looked good for the Chief LadigaBirthday Ride. Seven of us showed up. Just as we got to the trailhead, wesaw a few rain drops on the windshield. After a 2-hour drive we decided itwould clear up and headed out.

It took Beverly Short and Daisy Blanton a little longer to get set up so sinceit was raining a little, Joe Nivert, Vicki Cox and John Vass took off. MikeHartline, ride leader, waited on us. About 5 miles out of Piedmont (our firststop) we saw the others coming back. They said the visitor's center mantold them a big rain was heading this way so they were heading back. Wewent on to Piedmont and got the same message. After much debate (andmaking a cat happy with pretzels), we decided to head back too. It justwasn't with the rain gods for Beverly to get her birthday ride. Vicki Cox
