Implications

• The LEP has a strong strategic role and its status is growing

• Central Government funding (including EU) channelled through LEPs

• The Unitary Authorities will be the main delivery agents and will need LEP support to achieve their priorities

• Successful LEPs will leverage in private sector investment

• EU funding – skills, support for employment, sector development, closing gaps in attainment

• Strategic Growth Fund – large scale infrastructure and regeneration schemes, extending the City Deal.
