“Brothers and sisters: If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.”

The day of victory and triumph, bringing great joy and peace. We have visited the empty tomb, and ask with the anxious apostles, ‘where is He?’. ‘We were hoping…’ As Easter people our hopes are not dashed, but we hear reports of the Risen Christ in the upper room, on the road to Emmaus, in the garden and at the shores of the sea. He is not hidden.

We as believers look for the Lord too. Look within, as He lives and lives in us. Today may we recognize His presence through the life of grace. May we acknowledge in His presence in others. May we bring that presence to those who are slow to believe. May we adore that presence in the Eucharist.

Don’t let His life remain hidden, but through living your faith reveal that presence to others.

LORD, BY YOUR CROSS AND RESURRECTION,

YOU HAVE SET US FREE; YOU ARE THE SAVIOR OF

THE WORLD!

Glory and praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ,

for in Your rising from the dead You have trampled down

death, by death, and to those in the tomb

You’ve restored the gift of life. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?

(1 Cor 15:55)

Our Savior has overcome evil and has broken

the chains of the grave. If God is with us,

even in our dying, what then should we fear?

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God,

I worship and adore You. My heart rejoices in the victory

You have won; The salvation of the world

and lasting hope for all who trust in Your name!

Amen.

MEN’S CONFERENCE PRAYER Father, you sent your Beloved Son to us to guide us to your Eternal Kingdom. Allow us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, our Brother and Lord. May the Crucified and Risen Jesus Christ continue to reveal Himself to us and to unfold the mystery of your age-old love.

Teach us, Jesus, how to be men of God, our Father. Instruct us how to be men after your own pierced Sacred Heart. Make us loyal sons of your Church. Guide us to be faithful brothers to one another. By the gift of your Holy Spirit, form us in the image of your Son, Jesus, and allow us to be witnesses to the Kingdom of God. Help the men of the Diocese of Scranton to come to be disciples of Jesus and give us hearts to witness to your presence – who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
