Now in its seventh year, the SuffolkWalking Festival is bigger and better thanever before. Nearly 80 guided walks havebeen planned, covering the whole of thecounty. We have a lovely mix of shortstrolls around medieval villages andmarket towns and longer ramblesthrough the gentle landscapes of Suffolk,through Areas of Outstanding NaturalBeauty and along the glorious Suffolkcoast.

The Discover Suffolk Challenge Walk thisyear follows The Angles Way, whichmeanders for 90 miles along theSuffolk/Norfolk border, through thepicturesque Waveney Valley and the sandylandscape of The Brecks. Do one day, twodays or all six, the choice is yours, but asalways, there will be treats and prizes forthose completing the whole route.

This year our Discover Suffolk ChallengeWalk heads to the north of the county tofollow The Angles Way.

Meandering through the beautiful WaveneyValley, The Angles Way stretches for over 90miles along the border between Suffolk andNorfolk. We will start where The Angles Wayenters Suffolk at Fritton and pass through thehistoric Somerleyton Estate, wildlife-richCarlton Marshes, and the market towns ofBeccles, Bungay and Diss. At KnettishallHeath Nature Reserve we enter theenchanting landscape of The Brecks withits sandy soils and belts of pines. Weventure past Euston Hall, throughThe Kings Forest and end our walkat the Elveden Estate.

You need not complete all six daysof the Discover Suffolk ChallengeWalk, but there are prizes for thosewho do! Each day will feature localexperts to explain the landscape,wildlife and heritage of the area.

You must be fit and able to walk longdistances and come prepared for all weather.
