Page 4: The Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Christ

Jesus died at the hands of the Romans, the death that was considered the most execrable at that time: Death by Crucifixion

Page 5: The Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Christ

Salubong

Virgin Mary is clothed or at least veiled in black to express bereavement.

A girl dressed as an angel, positioned on a specially constructed high platform/scaffold or suspended in mid-air, sings the Regina Coeli in Latin or Vernacular and then dramatically removes the black veil, signifying the end of her grieving.

Other angels simply pull off the veil, or tie it to balloons or doves and release these into the air.

The Virgin is called Nuestra Señora de Alegria or Our Lady of Joy
