2002 Structure Structure D 2000 The Structure of GeS 2 —P 2 S 5 Glasses. — Structural models of (GeS 2 ) 1-x (P 2 S 5 ) x glass- es are developed based on combined data from solid state NMR spectroscopy, dipole distributions, neutron diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy. The models are used to explain bulk properties of the glasses, including density, glass transition temperature, and refractive index. The fundamental structural groups of these glasses consist of GeS 4/2 tetrahedra, and both S=PS 3/2 and PS 3/2 phosphorus units.
