Governor Mary Fallin and Chancellor Glen D. Johnson Announce College Completion Plan on September 22, 2011 on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma3COMPLETE COLLEGE AMERICA4

Summer AcademiesSummer Academies explore the latest trends in math, science and technology by using fun, hands-on activities and innovative software as students experiment both in the classroom and outdoors.

Many academies also include field trips to some of the states top companies, science facilities and museums.

More than 17,000 Oklahoma students have attended Summer Academies since 1990.

Seventy-three percent of Summer Academies students go to college immediately after high school, compared to 56 percent of all students.

More than 80 percent of Summer Academies students earn at least a bachelors degree, compared with 22 percent of all Oklahomans.

Cooperative AllianceHigher education institutions haveCooperative Alliance agreements with26 Technology Centers. These are voluntary partnerships that increase access to technical college-level programs for high school and adult students in Oklahoma. In Fall 2006, a total of 4,217 students (1,919 high school and 2,298 adult students) have been reported as enrolled in a total of 35,806 credit hours (12,854 by high school and 22,952 by adult students). Adult Degree CompletionThe regional universities have developed an adult degree completion program with assistance from the State Regents, to offer students all overOklahoma the opportunity to efficiently and expediently complete their progress towards a baccalaureate degree. The program is a collaboration among institutions and will utilize distance learning technologies as well as classroom instruction.Concurrent EnrollmentThe number of high school students earning college credit through traditional concurrent enrollment programs has seen a significant increase because of the tuition waiver program. Through the fall 2005, spring 2006 and summer 2006 semesters a total of 7,639 high school seniors received concurrent enrollment waivers for a total of 32,496 waved hours.Student PortalThe student information portal (www.OKcollegestart.org) will be launched in the spring of 2007. It will provide a single comprehensive web-based system for prospective and current students that will include online admission applications, college information, career opportunities, financial aid information, and ACT student services. Financial Aid-OHLAP-Oklahomas Promise, OTAGWorkforce and Economic DevelopmentResponding to Nursing and Allied Health Worker Shortage - The State Regents made a concerted effort to address the growing shortages in Oklahoma's health care workforce by dedicating $4.5 million to institutions offering nursing and allied health care programs. The initiative is expected to produce annually an additional 300 registered nurses, 130 allied health professionals, and 15 additional masters level nursing faculty.Department of Commerce collaborationEconomic Development Council - A companion website to www.OKcollegestart.org directed to adults is under development with the Governors Council on Workforce and Economic Development. Economic Development grantsNational Lambda Rail - OneNet became fully operational on the National LambdaRail in March 2006 and is currently providing these advanced network services to Oklahomas higher education institutions.

Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program The Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program (TSEIP) is a legislative ruling administered by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

TSEIP was designed to recruit and retain mathematics and science teachers in Oklahoma.

Successful candidates will be reimbursed eligible student loan expenses.
