Countries worldwide, are facing, these days, a critical situation, due to the outbreak

of the Corona virus “Covid-19”, that has spread at an unprecedented speed, across the

5 continents, creating major crises in various vital sectors.

Although the State of Qatar is taking the necessary measures to control its domestic

situation, and, protect it from the Corona epidemic, and, its repercussions on various

sectors, it has not forgotten its role and its humanitarian duty towards brotherly and

friendly countries, and harnessed all efforts to provide aid and support, to those in

need, afirming its solidarity and standing by them, during this crisis.

Since the beginning of the spreading of “Covid-19”, the State of Qatar has provided

urgent medical aid to nearly 78 countries in order to help them confront this crisis, thus

reducing the consequences of this epidemic, while expanding the circle of combating

the virus, around the world.

Various authorities in the state have extended their full support, such as the Ministry

of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Qatar Fund for Development, charitable

organizations and the private sector, to deliver this aid to the needy countries promptly

and, eficiently, in cooperation with the embassies and foreign missions of the state.

Despite the circumstances, Qatar Airways played a pivotal and prominent role in

the delivery of this aid, and was able to transport one million stranded people across

the world, and managed to ly them home safely. Qatar Airways received international praise from governments around the world.

With its sense of humanitarian duty and obligation, the state of Qatar continues to

provide aid to needy and affected countries.

To shed light on these humanitarian efforts, we present this report and statistics

regarding Qatari governmental and non-governmental aid to the affected brotherly and

friendly countries, to help them overcome the effects of this pandemic.

Government Aid

Overview:

The State of Qatar foreign aid, to combat the Corona pandemic, amounted to nearly

50 million US dollars, that beneited to 32 countries, across the ive continents, around the world. In addition to many ield hospitals donated by the Ministry of Defense, the State also provided 150 million US Dollars inancial support to the Gaza Strip, a part of which will go to assist the health Sector, cope with the effects of the Corona crisis.

International organizations, humanitarian and civil societies associations, also got

their share of this Aid, as Qatar allocated 20 million US dollars to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), out of its belief in the urgency of conirming international support and political commitment, to ensure speeding up research and

clinical testing, leading to vaccine and cure medication, and eradicating this virus, for

all the people, around the world.

The State also announced the allocation of 10 million US Dollars for the World

Health Organization (WHO), to support rapid access to provide equipment for the test, treatment and the provision of the adequate vaccine for “Covid-19”, to save lives, and

make it available to all world citizens, leaving no one behind.

Overview:

Institutions, charitable organizations and private sector companies were, also,

prompt in providing aid around the world, and, extend necessary assistance to help

mitigate the dangers caused by the coronavirus outbreak. Foreign aid provided by

charitable associations, organizations and the private sector, in the State of Qatar,

amounted to approximately 39 million US Dollars, donated to 66 countries, around

the world. These aids consisted of medical, relief and inancial assistance, provided through its ofices around the world. In coordination with Qatar diplomatic missions, in the host countries, Institutions and private companies, such as, Qatar Charity, Qatar

Red Crescent Society, Al Majida Group, “Baladna Food Industries” Qatar National Bank and Qatar Airways spared no means, and no effort to carry out this noble duty.
