Wild Wednesdays

Every Wednesday we have a summer event for youth entering

grades 7th-12th in the 2018-19 school year. Each Wednesday we

will join together for a wild adventure.

Wednesday June 6

Welcome 7th Graders BBQ Games, and Volleyball at Ta-Ha-

Zouka Youth and their families are invited to this event, let’s

welcome the new 7th graders into youth group. Barbeque, family

competitions, yard games, volleyball, and fellowship!!! Time: 6pm -

8pm. Families bring: A-K Salad, L-O Chips, P-Z Dessert Please

bring your own drinks, Annual girls vs boys volleyball game will

begin at 7:30pm parents and youth are invited to play (no max #

of participants) *all other food provided by youth ministry

Wednesday June 13

Skyview Park Night and Ice Cream Party Join us at Skyview

6:00pm-8:00pm, meet in the southwest parking lot by 25th St in

Skyview by North Fork Outfitting building. We will enjoy

kayaking, canoeing, and other activities and will end with an ice

cream party there. Time: 6:00-8:00pm Bring your favorite ice

cream topping to share. Parent supervisors needed for this event.

Wednesday June 20

Sarah's LakeWe will meet at 5:00pm at OSL by Room 3:18 and

head for a night of fun at Sarah's Lake. We will play games, gril

hot dogs and enjoy fellowship together. Time: 5:00pm-9:00pm

Bring a towel, sunscreen, water floats/toys, a picnic side/dessert

to share, a drink (water), and swimsuit—come in your swimsuit

with a cover-up on. (follow OSL swimsuit policy found at

www.oursav.org) Sign up online by Monday June 18th at

noon Parent drivers needed for this event

Wednesday June 27

Karttrax Family Fun Park in Yankton Youth will meet at church at

5:00pm, we will travel together to Yankton, to do mini golf, go

kart rides and a bumper boat ride then eat ice cream before re-

turning to Norfolk around 9:30pm. Time: 5:00pm-9:30pm Cost:

$25 for 3 activities, ice cream, and gas Bring $10 for food/

dinner if you want to eat as well. Sign up online by Monday June

25th. Parent drivers needed for this event, admissions and gas

are paid for. Youth please bring $25 cash Please wear your blue

LVR AND MEXICO: Colorado Servant event trip July 21-27, we will

be heading to a camp in Woodland Park Colorado

and working with Handicap campers to provide

them with a camp experience. Mexico Mission

trip July 20-27 we will be joining with a church

from Wisconsin to build houses and hosting a

VBS for the children across the border.

Girls Book Club 7th-12th Grades Graffiti

It's no secret that girls struggle with being inadequate, thanks to distorted ideas of what beauty really is. The media is no

help, with its airbrushed and enhanced images of models and movie stars. The answer is found in the Word of God. Author Erin Davis takes young women on a journey of discovery and love to a new image of themselves as daughters of God. Join us Wednesdays this summer for this book study! Wednes-

days 1-2:30pm at Downtown Coffee Company Starting June 13You can purchase books from the church office, make

At Our Savior we work together with parents to Point Kids to Jesus. We offer something for two year olds and their parents through grade six.

WALL OF HELPING HANDS Tuesdays and Thursdays June 26, 28 and July 3, 5, 10, 12 and 17 from 9:00-12:00am. Come join the fun to help get things ready for a fantastic ‘Shipwrecked!- Res-cued by Jesus’ Vacation Bible School. We will build, paint, de-sign and test out the crafts, eat breakfast and add your hand to the Wall! Completed fourth graders on up are welcome to join in the fun! ATTEND CHURCH CAMP There are camps for Grades 1-9 at Camp Luther near Schuyler. Camp Luther has a multi-child discount of $50 and a NO CAMPER LEFT BEHIND POLICY. Re-member to ask about OSL Camperships in the church office. Camperships can cover up to two thirds the cost!

UPDATE ON BUILDING On May 14th a Congregational Meeting was held at the new building, the topic of conversation was the future location of the Traditional Wor-

ship services in the new building. A space was designated for Traditional worship, until such time that the Traditional Sanctuary could be built.

Our Construction experts estimated the cost of finishing the room to be $400,000.

Thanks be to God within two weeks $200,000 in donations were made to the church for the completion of the Traditional Sanctuary.

On Sunday, June 3rd, Pastor Lee challenged the congregation to match the remaining $200,000, in an effort to get the process going to build the

new Traditional Sanctuary.

The remodel on the rest of the building is coming along nicely. All the walls are in place, drywall up and painting is being done, as well as, the

outside windows on the west side of the building have been put in (this is where the Children’s Ministry area will be).
