It’s showtime at the DanceEast Spiegeltent!Get ready for a fantastic fortnight of workshops and shows in Christchurch Park as part of Big Dance 2012 and Ip-art. An exciting range of events will be on off er from Baby Boogie Disco and Burlesque, to Hip Hop and Tango. There will also be fabulous cabaret evenings, a Dirty Dancing-inspired night and much more. The Spiegeltent is a great place to enjoy yourself, get fi t and have fun. If you have never experienced dance, then this summer is a great time to start.

Big Dance is a biennial national festival celebrating dance across all regions of the UK. To tie-in with the London 2012 Festival, Big Dance 2012 is set to be bigger and better than ever!

Baby Boogie Disco 12.00 – 1.00pm Free! A dance party for under fi ves, guaranteed to get those little booties moving and grooving. Gives parents and tots a chance to let loose for some disco fun.

The Big Apple Workshop with Cal’donias Swing Dance 1.15 – 2.15pm Free!Andy and Daisy, vintage Jazz experts, give a workshop on Big Apple dance from 1930s America. Big Apple is a fun and relaxed dance style great for loosening up and getting into the rhythms of Swing and Jazz.

Hip Hop 2.30 – 3.30pm Free!This dynamic dance style will give you the chance to boost your energy and bust some moves. With a street and funk slant this class is set to the latest tunes. Suitable for all ages.

Dance Beats!Inspired by Mamma Mia 3.45 – 4.45pm Free!This lovely workshop is for mums and daughters of all ages to dance together to ABBA’s greatest hits.

Led by Henrietta Lewis, this beautiful and gentle dance style improves posture and coordination through controlled, fi ne movements. Please bring a scarf to tie around your hips.

Strictly Su� olk 7.00pm £12 (concessions £10)

Join Bruce Lait and Crystal Main, Strictly Come Dancing show dancers from the Lait Dance Club, for an evening of Ballroom and Latin American dancing. There will be the chance to have a go in a workshop suitable for beginners and also to watch the professionals perform dances such as the Paso Doble, Foxtrot and many more!

A recent addition to the class programme at DanceEast, but already proving a success, Nia combines movements from dance, martial arts and yoga. Everyone is able to adapt Nia to meet their needs by choosing from three intensity levels. This relaxing class is taken barefoot to music.

Belly Dancing Workshop A-Z of Veils 5.00 – 6.30pm £10 (concessions £8)

Led by Henrietta Lewis, this beautiful and gentle workshop is suitable for people of all levels of fi tness (please bring a veil if you have one, although there will be veils to borrow).

The Hafl a (which is the Arabic word for party) will include live music from Tim Garside and Dave Murray and a performance by Zahara Belly Dance with lots of dancing for all to join in. ZBD is led by Henrietta who, along with a group of dancers, will perform during the Hafl a.
