Our solar system

Oour solar system is made of 8 planets. These planets are Mercury , Venus , Earth , Mars , Jupiter , Saturn , Uranus , and Neptune these are the planets that surround and orbit our sun.

Inner Planets

• The inner planets planets are the 4 closest planets to the sun. these planet are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Among these planets is our own. These planets are the smallest in the solar system with mercury being the smallest.

Outer Planets

• These Planets are the 4 farthest away from the sun. These planets are also the largest with Jupiter being the largest. These planets are all gas giants made of many gases that are also on earth.

Earths surface

• Earths’ surface is our home. It has many • Features on its surface such as caves oceans • Lakes plains and many more. These provide

some of our ways to live. Our planet has trees • That provide oxygen which alows us to

breathe. The atmosphere provides us to live • by controlling temperature to

Mars surface is not hospitable. It is a very cold planet. Mars surface is red because of the dust. The dust that is on mars is toxic. We have found rocks on mars that are smooth that means that there was water on mars at

How Earth and Mars are alike

Earth and Mars have a few likeness here are a few of them. One is that they both are solid

Not gas giants. They both are inner planets.They both have or had water because mars

has ice which is the solid form of water.

How Earth and Mars are different

• Here are a few of Earth and Mars differences.• One Earth is very hospitable while mars is very • Cold and barren. The dust on mars is toxic

unlike earth where ours is clean. Earth has water that is clean while we do not know if mars water is.

What I’ve learned

• I’ve learned that earth mars are alike in as many ways that they’re different. Ive learned about every planet and what they are made of and their moons and other facts about them. I learned the differences between inner and outer planets. This is what I learned.

Mercury

• The planet Mercury is the first planet. It is a bit bigger than Earth’s moon. Mercury is very hot but can be very cold at night and has craters all over the planet. Mercury has no moons.

Venus

• Venus is the second and closest planet to the Earth. It is covered with thick clouds, craters, volcanoes, and lava plains. The planet’s atmosphere could crush you.

Earth

Earth is the third planet from our sun and our home. We have weather good for our life style. We have a lot of water which we can drink. We have a good atmosphere so we can live.

Mars

Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. It is very cold and covered with craters. We know about mars surface because of satalites and rovers. it’s name is from the roman god of war.

Jupiter

• Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun. it is• A gas giant and the largest planet. Jupiter is

made of the same material that stars are made of. The planet is famous for it very large red spot that resembles a storm. Jupiter has 62 moons.

Saturn

• Saturn is the fifth planet from the sun. Saturn is surrounded by many rings made of ice and dust. Saturn was discovered by Galileo in the year 1610. Saturn’s magnetic field is much stronger than earth’s.

Uranus

• Uranus is the Fifth planet. It is a gas • giant. It is basically pure white. It is 3 • billion square miles. Made up of hydrogen ,• Methane, ammonia, and helium.

Neptune

• Neptune is the eighth planet from the • Sun. The planet is pure blue from the gases • On the planet. The planet is a gas giant. The • Planet is made of hydrogen.
