smartDM and smartWFM
Introducing a flexible WFM tool that enables process owners (i.e ANSPs) to design work flows according to their process for the data originators
Regulatory Compliance
– ICAO – Annex 15 , ADQ - Aeronautical Data Quality - Implementation Rules, EC Regulation 73/2010, OJEU – 27th January 2010
Increased Efficiency in AIM
– Traceability
– Timeliness
– Control of the process and documentation
Vision – Aeronautical Data Change

smartWFM
An integrated solution for the data originators to interface with smartDM products according to their unique processes
The solution includes:
– A web service interface to the smartDM for data management
– AIM customized state-of-the-art WFM forms
– Full integration of AIM customized WFM forms with:
– smartAIM DM (AIXM 4.5 or AIXM 5.1 database modules)
– AIXM features (binding mechanism)
– AIXM metadata
– AIXM temporality
– AIXM slot management (change set)
– smartAIM common services (i.e authorization, authentication)
Full costumer support to design the work flows based on their requirements

smartWFM
FREQUENTIS is using a COTS WFM tool customized and integrated into AIM environment
Internationalization by:– different languages: German, English, French, Italian, Persian
– language and time-zone per user
– full Unicode support
– different calendars and holidays
An open, platform- and database-independent system
Complex processes, organizations structures, and forms can be modeled
Different clients make the system applicable for each workflow application
Application integration: consequent use of standards, various interfaces and a rich API makes this task easy.
Proved in many projects and application areas

Dynamic Data
Short-term information, which may change frequently
NOTAM: Notice to Airmen– Information to pilots describing changes to static data (e.g. bird swarms, runway
closures, runway icing, cranes,…)
– have a location (may affect an area) and a validity
Flight Plans: – Describe the route along which a flight will be flown
– Include information about the timing
– Include information about the aircraft capabilities and equipment
Meteo Information:– METAR, TAF, SIGMET: textual information describing the weather situation

Digital NOTAM
Digital NOTAM is a sub-concept of AIXM 5. It was the main reason for the FAA to support the standard.
Digital NOTAM follows a different timeline than the “rest” of AIXM.
SWIM will be the transport mechanism.– ICAO does not have a standard for it yet. SWIM is only
worked no by FAA / Eurocontrol
– Before the transport issue is finally defined and standardised on a world-wide basis, it is therefore unlikely that a global replacement of traditional NOTAM transmitted via AFTN can be achieved in the foreseeable future.
