God is the Lord, and He revealed Himselfto us. Blessed is he who comes in the name ofthe Lord. [SAAS]

Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνοµα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ.

Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and callupon His holy name.

ἤ· Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ, ὅτι ἀγαθός,ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ.

or: Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; forHis mercy endures forever.

When O When O Christ our God Thou wast Transfigured on the mountain Thou didst reveal Thy glory to Thy disciples in proportion as they could bear it. Let Thine everlasting light also enlighten us sinners. Through the intercessions of the Theotokos, O Thou Bestower of light, glory to Thee.

Your glory as far as they were able, O Christour God; so that when they would see Youcrucified they might understand that YourPassion was deliberate, and declare to theworld that in truth You are the Father'sradiance. [SD]

On August 8 we commemorate ourdevout Father Emilian the Confessor, Bishopof Cyzicus.

Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡµέρᾳ µνήµη τοῦ ἁγίουΜύρωνος, Ἐπισκόπου Κρήτης, τοῦΘαυµατουργοῦ.

On this day we commemorate SaintMyron the Wonderworker Bishop of Crete.

Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡµέρᾳ µνήµη τοῦ ὁσίου Πατρὸςἡµῶν Θεοδοςίου, Ἡγουµένου Ὀρόβων.

On this day we also commemorate ourdevout father Theodosios, Abbot of theMonastery of Orovon.

Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡµέρᾳ µνήµη τῶν ἁγίωνΜαρτύρων Ἐλευθερίου, Λεωνίδου, καὶ τῶννηπίων διὰ πυρὸς τελειωθέντων.

On this day we also commemorate theholy Martyrs Eleftherios, Leonidas, and thechildren with them who died by fire.

Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡµέρᾳ οἱ ἅγιοι δύο Μάρτυρες οἱἐκ Τύρου, κατὰ γῆς συρόµενοι, τελειοῦνται.

On this day the two holy Martyrs fromTyre died by being dragged on the ground.

Μνήµη τοῦ ἁγίου ΝεοµάρτυροςΤριανταφύλλου, τοῦ ἐκ Ζαγορᾶς µὲντῆς Μαγνησίας καταγοµένου, ἐνΚωνσταντινουπόλει δὲ µαρτυρήσαντος ἐνἔτει ͵αχπʹ (1680).

We also commemorate the holy Neo-martyr Triandafillos from Zagora in Magnesiawho witnessed in Constantinople in the year1680.

Μνήµη τοῦ ἁγίου ΝεοµάρτυροςἈναστασίου, τοῦ ἐν Θεσσαλονίκῃµαρτυρήσαντος ἐν ἔτει ͵αψ#δʹ (1794).

We also commemorate the holy Neo-martyr Anastasios who witnessed inThessaloniki in the year 1794.

By the intercessions of Your Saints, OGod, have mercy on us. Amen

Verse: My soul magnifies the Lord, and myspirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. [NKJV]

Τὴν τιµιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβείµ, καὶἐνδοξοτέραν, ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείµ,τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως, Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν,τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ µεγαλύνοµεν.

Greater in honor than the Cherubim, andin glory greater beyond compare than theSeraphim; you without corruption gave birthto God the Word, and are truly Theotokos.You do we magnify. [SD]

Στίχ. Ὅτι ἐπέβλεψεν ἐπὶ τὴν ταπείνωσιντῆς δούλης αὐτοῦ· ἰδού γάρ, ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦνµακαριοῦσί µε πᾶσαι αἱ γενεαί.

Verse: For He has regarded the lowly stateof His maidservant; for behold, henceforth allgenerations will call me blessed. [NKJV]

Fire and hail, snow and ice, stormy wind, whichperform His word.

Τὰ ὄρη καὶ πάντες οἱ βουνοί, ξύλα καρποφόρακαὶ πᾶσαι κέδροι.

Mountains and all the hills, fruitful trees and allcedars.

Τὰ θηρία καὶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη, ἑρπετὰ καὶπετεινὰ πτερωτά.

Wild animals and all cattle, creeping things andflying birds.

Βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς καὶ πάντες λαοί, ἄρχοντες καὶπάντες κριταὶ γῆς.

Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and alljudges of the earth.

Νεανίσκοι καὶ παρθένοι, πρεσβύτεροι µετὰνεωτέρων· αἰνεσάτωσαν τὸ ὄνοµα Κυρίου, ὅτι ὑψώθητὸ ὄνοµα αὐτοῦ µόνου.

Young men and maidens, elders with younger,let them praise the Lord's name, for His name alone isexalted.

Ἡ ἐξοµολόγησις αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ γῆς καὶ οὐρανοῦ. καὶὑψώσει κέρας λαοῦ αὐτοῦ.

His thanksgiving is in earth and heaven. And Heshall exalt the horn of His people.

Ὕµνος πᾶσι τοῖς ὁσίοις αὐτοῦ, τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραήλ,λαῷ ἐγγίζοντι αὐτῷ.

A hymn for all His saints, for the children of Israel,a people who draw near to Him.

Ἄσατε τῷ Κυρίῳ ᾆσµα καινόν, ἡ αἴνεσις αὐτοῦἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ ὁσίων.

Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise in theassembly of His holy ones.

Εὐφρανθήτω Ἰσραὴλ ἐπὶ τῷ ποιήσαντι αὐτόν,καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Σιὼν ἀγαλλιάσθωσαν ἐπὶ τῷ βασιλεῖαὐτῶν.

Let Israel be glad in Him who made him, and letthe children of Zion greatly rejoice in their King.

Αἰνεσάτωσαν τὸ ὄνοµα αὐτοῦ ἐν χορῷ, ἐντυµπάνῳ καὶ ψαλτηρίῳ ψαλάτωσαν αὐτῷ.

Let them praise His name with dance; withtambourine and harp let them sing to Him.

For the Lord is pleased with His people, and Heshall exalt the gentle with salvation.

The holy ones shall boast in glory, and they shallgreatly rejoice on their beds.

The high praise of God shall be in their mouth anda two-edged sword in their hand.

To deal retribution to the nations, reprovingamong the peoples.

Τοῦ δῆσαι τοὺς βασιλεῖς αὐτῶν ἐν πέδαις καὶτοὺς ἐνδόξους αὐτῶν ἐν χειροπέδαις σιδηραῖς.

To shackle their kings with chains and their nobleswith fetters of iron.

To fulfill among them the written judgment: thisglory have all His holy ones.
