northeast from
Paris, France.
It took place in the
Aisne-Marne Sector.
This battle took
place on July 18,
1918.
The reason as to why they were fighting was
because Erich von Ludendorff (a German leader)
wanted to break through the stalemate between
the allies and the central powers.
Erich von Ludendorff’s plan
made the allied powers
become angry.

In the Battle of
Marne, the Allies
had managed to
stop the German
troops from invading
the Western Front.
General Ludendorff
announced their
defeat on
September 29,
1919.
The German leaders
soon asked for
peace but was
denied the
opportunity because
of their type of
government.

of their
imperial
government,
and the
creation of
their new
democratic
government.
