The right To Bear Arms• The second Amendment protects from harm. • Guarantees the right of every individual to posses &

carry a wide variety of firearms.• Adopted Dec. 15,1791 & is stated on two very important

documents which are, the United States Constitution & United States Bill of Rights.

Can Everyone Bear Arms???• One should consider, giving the right to bear arms to

just anyone puts others in fear.• According to The U.S. constitution blue print for

Democracy, it argues The Constitution goes too far in defending rights of individuals at expense of victims

• Idea is supported by Lydia Bjornlund, she states in her opinion ‘’ Although some statistics indicate that the crime rate is decreasing, fear of crime is on the rise.’’

• issues such as crime & fear, set an example of why the right to bear arms shouldn’t be allowed to just anyone.

What is the intention of the right to bear arms?• Safety purposes is what the Second Amendment was

mainly intended for.• According to Findlaw.com, it reports that the court

reasoned the right of bearing arms to be fundamental.• Findlaw.com supports it’s claim by mentioning how

‘’The weapons should be used for safety purposes & nothing else.’’

Is the historical context of the weapon’s defense important??• Important to understand, the U.S. needs to protect

borders by using weapons.• The second Amendment argued the defense of our

borders hadn’t been a cause concern for nearly a century until the issue of Sept. 11, 2001 when attacks were made in the U.S.

• The Event portrays the right of bearing arms is beneficial & great for the country because it allows us to protect our country from any threats of danger.

Final Thought• I support The Second Amendment because of it’s use for

protection from harm.• in order for consumer to purchase a weapon, he/she

should not have any criminal records, mental problems, and should know how to handle the weapon without bringing fear to others.
