One thing that will not pass is the love of God. Paul asked, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Romans 8:35) He answers, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38- 39). Though this unusual season has separated us in many ways, the SEARCH ministry has continued to point to the Lord Jesus and bless millions. People have watched our programs, and churches have used SEARCH music with their online worship. We are thankful we had resources we could share. Our office has only performed the most basic services, since most employees have sheltered in place. We will be late sending out materials, since it takes many volunteers to stuff the envelopes. Sheltering in place has not been easy, especially on the Lord’s day. We miss being with our church family. While online encouragement and worship has great value, it cannot replace personal greetings, smiles, handshakes, and hugs. God made us social creatures, and we have all suffered from this imposed sheltering. We long to gather with the saints and stimulate one another to love and good deeds.

These past weeks of sheltering in place have reminded me of those in hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons. Most of our connecting lately has been by phone or internet. When Peter and Paul could not preach in the churches, they could write. The epistles must have been a great encouragement to the churches.

SEARCH broadcasts early in the morning before most worship services begin, so both home-bound folks and worship attenders can see the program. We want to bless and encourage all. SEARCH provides singing, prayers, and Bible teaching in order to reach the lost and encourage the saved. We seek to evangelize and to instruct, just as our marching orders from the Master instruct us (Matthew 28:18-20).

We were reaching the lost and the others who do not attend worship before the virus changed our society, and we are still reaching out. More than ever people have needed the saving gospel and message of the Lord. We constantly pray “God will open to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ” (Colossians 4:2-3).

We ask that you remember us in your prayers and continue to help us financially to speak to a religiously confused and lost world, to encourage the weak, and to bless those who are confined. We are making a difference. Please help us.

May the Lord be with you, Phil Sanders

Gathering Together

COVID-19 has captured our attention for several weeks, but this too shall pass. One thing that will not pass is the love of God. Paul asked, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Romans 8:35) He answers, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).

Though Oklahoma will enter Phase one of the recovery in May, we do not know when we will be able to catch up on regular mail. The website (searchtv.org) has much to offer free.

Sweet Jackie is doing well, and we are enjoying some quiet time. We miss everyone. May the Lord bless you and keep you during these difficult times.

Charitable AnnuitiesYou can now contribute to SEARCH in the form of a charitable annuity. Charitable annuities allow donors to draw interest as long as they live on the money they contribute. Your money also blesses SEARCH with interest each year. If you have an interest in a charitable annuity, please contact us.

As I write this article, I’m in the SEARCH offices with only one other person here, also working on getting this month’s newsletter information together. I am not a huge fan of social distancing by any stretch and desperately want to be around my brothers and sisters in CHRIST! Being together with our Christian families is an important blessing most of us will never again take for granted!

There is not much going on here at SEARCH. Mailing out booklets, study sheets and audio CD’s have all had to be halted due to not being able to assemble volunteer workers and others to fill requests. When this Pandemic is over the staff of SEARCH will again resume all of these functions. Please understand we cannot at this time fill any requests, rather we ask you to go to our website www.searchtv.org and read, listen, watch or download our materials for your use, and tell others to do the same.

Like so many others, I have a small group of four meeting in my home for church on Sundays. We utilize the SEARCH program for our initial study and singing. We read and discuss scripture, partake of the Lord’s Supper, pray together and usually have lunch together. I have had many others tell me they too use the SEARCH program to help in their home services on Sundays.

Please remember IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY in your prayers during this time as we will continue to preach the GOSPEL of CHRIST all across the USA and many other countries. Also please remember, the cost of producing and airing this ministry continues to be a very large expense especially in this unique and difficult time.

May the LORD bless you and keep you!

In HIM…Chris Lyon

Topics subject to change without notice

JUNE 7 – WHO IS YOUR LORD?Jesus once asked His disciples, “Who do you say

I am?” Faith in Christ is an individual matter. Each must decide for himself whether he will follow the Lord and His teaching. Jesus is Lord, and we must set Him apart as Lord in our lives.

JUNE 14 – A SERVANT’S HEARTI love the song many young people sing, which

begins, “Give me the heart of a servant.” While many want to live for their own pleasure and love calling the shots, Jesus chose the heart of a servant. We too need the heart of a servant.

JUNE 21 – BECAUSE OF JESUSBecause of Jesus, our lives have taken a new

direction, filled with hope. Because of Jesus we have so many blessings. How thankful we should all be for what great things the Lord Jesus has done for us!

JUNE 28 – IS GOD ACTIVE TODAY?Some think God is absent in our world today;

others say God is dead. The Bible teaches God is indeed alive and active in the world today and is working for our good. We can be thankful to have a God who cares for us.

Production RoomFrom theThe last few weeks

have been very strange for all of us. So many adjustments have been made all over the world to accommodate a strange new lifestyle, “social-distancing”.

This has also had an impact on the inner workings at SEARCH. We want you to know that we are diligently working to continue to present the gospel each week across the nation. We have continued to supply all of our stations with programming for several weeks now and have only seen each other in person one time. Certainly that is a great change from our normal day to day operation. One of us will come in to the office briefly to prepare the physical needs of the program while the other works remotely to ensure delivery of the program is made on time to all of our stations.

While this solution has suited our current needs we both look forward to being together once again, recording new timely Bible based messages and spending time together in fellowship at work. Stay safe, be healthy and trust in God.

SEARCHOF THE LORD’S WAY ®

BROOMFIELD, CO “More than ever before, you are reaching people far beyond what you ever dreamed! With Covid19, no one is going to church. You are their church away from church. Instead of being a jump start to worship on Sunday morning, like normal – you are our link to church and normal. May God use you to go to all areas of the world and teach all nations – you truly can with the internet! God Knew!! Someday!! You are doing it. May our small contribution help you do just that. God Bless you in all you do for the Lord.”

LITTLE ELM, TX “Thank you for working for the Lord. The Sunday morning lesson is so much more needed since we are not able to meet right now with our congregation. I appreciate all of you.”

MIDLAND, MI “Thank you so much for your program. It is very well done and a wonderful representative of the Lord’s church. We have been isolated for a month from services and your program has helped fill the void.”

DERBY, KS “I hope and pray you all and yours are doing well. This corona virus is terrible. So far we have been fortunate here in Derby. The good Lord just keeps blessing us, and for that I’m so thankful. Brother Phil, I watch you on the Fox channel 4 on Sunday’s at 7:30 a.m. You are so good. I thank you so much for all of your work. I’m always glad to see friends of mine in the singing part of the program. They used to worship with us here at Derby. I pray the good Lord will continue to bless all of us and In Search of the Lord’s Way. And that Brother Phil will be on the TV for a long time. With love and prayers.”

TheSearchstaffalwayswantsyouto know that we are all praying for you, as you continue to pray for us!

HOT SPRINGS, AR “I travel out of my area every Sunday to preach at a neighboring congregation. We are not a tech savvy group, and do not air our services. We have tried to spread the word that we can still worship each Sunday, just in a different way. I love the way you present God’s Word. I love being a part of a body of believers that knows that God is bigger than this pandemic. We all pray for families that have lost loved ones. May God continue to bless your continued work.”

POWDER SPRINGS, GA “Listening to you on Sunday mornings gives me directions all week long. Your lessons and singing reminds me of listening to brother Bill Cofer of Shields church of Christ in OKC. It fills my heart with the love of God!”
