Faith is contrasted with doubt.

Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he

eat, because he eateth not of faith: for

whatsoever is not of faith is sin”

1 John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin

transgresseth also the law: for sin is the

transgression of the law”

In what way are we to Search?

1. No one can thoroughly search himself.

Heart

Jer 17:10 “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every

man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of

his doings”

He may be more good than he

realizes.

He may be more evil than he

expects.

Jer 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked:

who can know it?”

1 Cor 4:3-4 “But with me it is a very small thing that I should be

judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by

myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is

the Lord”

We are searched by the slow and

steady passing of the years.
