“doing” of ministry, but where does that “doing” come from? Our “doing” for the Lord should be a reflection of our relationship with Him, which is dependent upon our “BE” time with Him. They are inseparable. Yes, life is busy. Yet, when was the last time you took time to just “BE” with God? I don’t mean just a daily quiet time. We all need an extended time alone with God on a regular basis. For this season of life, hiking the AT is one way that works for me. You may be in a season of life where extended time alone with may be just a day or so. Whatever the season, make time for extended time with God. Let Him guide you into what works best for you. God is certainly at work at The Creek. I believe we have found our place as a Christ-Centered, Bible-Based, Ministry-Focused community of faith committed to being the hands and feet to our community. However, I believe God is calling us to expand that place by giving us a fresh vision of where He is already at work and asking us to join Him in that work. Let me ask you to be in prayer with me during these next few weeks in asking God to open our eyes and ears to the vision He has for us at The Creek. I believe God has a great work for us to do at The Creek. My prayer is that our hearts will be open to His call and our hands and feet ready to serve where The Good Shepherd leads us. I hope this is your prayer. Selah! In His Grip, Rick Page

impact Yadkin 2015

What a wonderful week! Our community had 930 volunteers (680 kids and 250 adults)

working on 94 job sites doing free home repairs. In addition to 43 local churches there

were people from churches in South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland and all the

way from Hawaii. There were 800 people staying at Forbush High and Middle Schools, in

addition to folks cooking, cleaning and distributing water and supplies .

Monday evening, Deep Creek Baptist served those staying at the schools. We also

served lunch each day to the two crews who joined us for worship on Sunday, June 14.

That was the physical impact on our community!

The greater blessing is that Jesus Christ was shared by all to all. In response, six

souls were introduced to our Savior by evangelism, eight kids through the Party in the

Park events, 27 volunteers were saved, and there were four commitments to full time

ministry! Seven of the total salvation decisions were from the Deep Creek Baptist Youth

Group, and there was one recommitment from our fellowship. Rick baptized these at the

Youth at Look Up Lodge

will be a time of unity and spiritual growth.

Teach Your Children

Our Children’s Ministry is in need of workers. In Deuteronomy 4:10-11 God told Moses to “Gather the

people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on

the earth, and that they may teach their children.” He goes on in Deuteronomy 11:19 to say “...teach

them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when

you lie down, and when you rise up,…”

In the every day events of life our children are to be taught God’s great and mighty works on our behalf,

His love toward us, and His provision for our redemption. By assisting in the Children’s Ministry here at

The Creek, you can have the opportunity to impact not only the life of a child, but their relationship with

your God, and the eternal destination of a child. Will you talk with Jeannie Kent about what God would

have you do at The Creek in the everyday things to teach and touch a child?

Our Pastor will on The Trail

Please be in prayer for Rick

during this time. Pray for his safety and

that it will be a time of spiritual refreshing.

Also pray for those who will minister to us

during this time.

For I was hungry and you gave me

something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave

me something to drink, I was a stranger and

you invited me in, I needed clothes and you

clothed me, I was sick and you looked after

me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

“The New Colossus”

by Emma Lazarus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles.

From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

“"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!"” cries she

With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Eight Priceless Gifts That Won’t Cost You a Cent

The Gift of Listening - Really listen. No interrupting, no

daydreaming, no planning your response. Just Listening.

The Gift of Affection - Be generous with appropriate

hugs, pats on the back and handholds. Let small actions

demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.

The Gift of Laughter - Clip cartoons. Share articles and

funny stories. Your gift will say “I love to laugh with

you.”

The Gift of a Written Note - A brief, handwritten note

may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even

change a life.

The Gift of a Compliment - A simple and sincere “You

did a super job,” “I appreciate you,” can make

someone’s day.

The Gift of a Favor - Every day, go out of your way to do

something kind.

The Gift of Solitude - There are times when we want

nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to

those times and give the gift of solitude to others.

The Gift of a Cheerful Disposition - The easiest way to

feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really,

it’s not that hard to say, “Hello,” or “Thank You,” or

“Have a Blessed day.”
