Playground Update!
The structure we ordered got held up at the manufacturing company. It is scheduled to arrive
within the next day or two. However, because we are putting the rubber mat under it, we
cannot install it until spring as the rubber cannot be installed when it is below zero. We hope
to have an install date within the first two weeks of April. Thank you to everyone for being
patient with us, the new playground will be great!

Legion
The Lashburn Legion # 73 would like to thank the community for their support of our Remembrance-
Poppy campaign.
The Lashburn High School presented an awesome service. Thanks to the Grade 11 class, Mr. Laternus,
Mrs. Doering and her Food 30 class for all of their hard work. Your candle lighting tribute was so
touching.
Thanks goes to JH Moore and the 3-4 class under the guidance of Ms. Peasley for their Remembrance
assembly. Your poppy decorations were inspiring as well as that final song, The Soldier.
Thanks to all who attended our service on November 11th
. We appreciate the Hall Board, Pastor Glen,
high school students Colby Sandberg, Madi Hope and Hannah McLauchlan, the Ladies Auxiliary,
Patricia Atkinson, Davan Russell, Senior Centre, RCMP member Blair Reagan and our music lady,
Lorna Chappell. We are a small Legion and all the volunteers really help us put together the Service. Of
course without people purchasing wreaths we would have no service. Thank you to you and our
dedicated Legion Members.
Congratulations to Taylor Farrell for receiving our Bursary. He is a very deserving student; we wish
him continued success in his studies.
We have also given a donation of $2000.00 to the Lashburn Community Hall Board to help with the
renovations. The Poppy money stays here and is put to use in our own community.
A Poppy Tray was stolen from C& L on November 11th
and although it was heartbreaking to think a
woman would feel the need to steal from the Veterans we are grateful no one was hurt. Should you find
our tray in an alley, ditch or back yard, please return it to any Legion member.
