Held in the Gansewinkel Hall on the third day of the SBE week, JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the biggest banks in the U.S., conducted a talk about their com-pany and a possible career path with them for the future graduates. The forum was organized by the Junior Philippine Institute of Ac-countants (JPIA) and was mostly attended by 4th year BSMA stu-dents, although 3rd year BSA stu-dents were invited as well. JPIA’s VP-Internal, Ms. Ava Alegado hosted the event and four speakers from JPMorgan were later on intro-duced to the audience. The first speaker was Ms. Jaz Caballero, the Recruitment Manager of JPMorgan Chase. She set the mood of the entire forum by tackling a vital topic for any hopeful graduate; preparing for the work place. She shared her own experiences when talking about choosing career paths, and also her experience being in recruitment and the many do’s and don’ts when first applying for a job. The next speaker was Mr. Mark Meacham, the Vice-President for retail operations here in Cebu. He gave an overview of JPMorgan Chase and what it is like to work in a global bank. He also was not shy to admit that he has come to love living in the Philip-pines, specifically Cebu, and plans to expand further the growth of JPMorgan here in our province. Ms. Debra Estero, the Sourcing Manager, then explained more about the company, specifi-cally the Cebu branch, after show-ing to the audience the AVP from JPMorgan. Francisco David, an alumnus of USC batch 2010, was then asked to speak in behalf of the company as a testimony of the success he has had in his almost 2 years stay in the company. A short Q&A then fol-lowed, which a number of students participated in by asking questions

ranging from other employee bene-fits to possible career paths under JPMorgan. To draw the forum to a close, tokens of appreciation were given to the resource speakers and the president of JPIA, Mr. Marcley Augustus Natu-el gave the closing remarks. It was indeed an enlight-ening forum for the attendees that left most considering a future with one of the biggest banks in the United States, JPMorgan Chase & Co.
