In Fourth Grade, we used Sway in Spanish and Social Studies. In Spanish, some of us used Sway for our country reports. And in Social Studies, we used Sway for our Famous Ohioans/Wax Museum projects. Sway is simple and easy to use. I like that I can add videos and pictures to my Sway presentations. It is fun to see what other kids do with their Sway presentations. Sway has helped make learning fun. Brady Heybruch, 4th grade 3rd graders program Bee-Bots Bee Bots are robots that are used for coding, and can be used in any subject. Bee Bots move a certain direction depending on the buttons you press. There are card mats that you put the Bee Bots on so they can move around. For Math, Ms. Lawless had multiplication products on the mat, and the students created word problems. We then coded the Bee Bots to move to the card with the right answer. We got to practice our multiplication facts and had to figure out what arrows to press to get the Bee Bots to the right answer. Coding and working with robots is fun! Andrew Griga, 3rd Grade Celebrating Technology at All Saints I love “go noodle” because it is fun and makes my face smile. Especially, I like the moves that go with the music. Hannah Cha, Kindergarten In 8th grade, the students in Math Counts are practicing programming with Mr. Fairbanks. We got to use Ozobots, which are little robots that you get to tell what to do. We use the iPads to program them, and we can make them move around, make noises, and even change colors. Drew Held, 8th grade In first grade we use iPads at school to play math games after morning recess. We also use iPads to take A.R. Tests about the books we read. Patrick Worth, 1st grade 6th graders use laptops to work on cross examination questions for Mock Trial class Students use the Ozobots 5th graders work on the iPads 1st graders doing some work on iPads In technology for the Fine Arts Fair we are all making special projects and displays. For code we are doing AIY’s which are like the Google Home. I personally am doing a drawing using pixel art. Some others are creating videos filled with effects and some are even baking cakes. There should be some good projects at the the fair and in the hallways, so stop by the fair and check them out. Brodie Custer, 7th grade 4th graders work on Sway

Mrs. Miller—4th Grade Teacher By: Caroline Reinhart, 4th Grade

I interviewed Mrs. Miller. Here are some fun facts that I bet you didn’t know. Her favorite color is fuchsia. Her favorite animal is a dog. When she’s not teaching, she likes to be outdoors. Mrs. Miller grew up with seven brothers and two sisters. She has two children (Brian and Claire), and now has two grandchildren (Louie and Nola). Mrs. Miller’s favorite subject is Religion, but a close second is Social Studies. Mrs. Miller chose to be a teacher because she loves children. If Mrs. Miller couldn’t be a teacher, she would want to be a nurse. The thing she likes most about being a teacher is the fact that every day is different. Mrs. Miller loves teaching!

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

First Holy CommunionBy Brooke Reeder, 2nd grade

First Communion was on April 14th & 15th. We worked hard for months to prepare for it with help from Miss Griffiths, Mrs. Lecher, & Mrs. Hinton. When I got to First Communion, I was nervous, but knowing I was going to receive the Body & Blood of Jesus calmed me down. It was a special day for all of us!

By: Tom Crone, Volleyball, 6th gradeI was disappointed when I found out there wasn’t going to be a 6th grade baseball team this year. I was looking forward to another school sport to do, and I heard there was a boys vol-leyball team. I didn’t know much about it, and I wasn’t sure if I’d even like it. I decided to give it a try, though, and I’m glad I did. Our team is made up of 5th and 6th graders and everyone gets along really well. Mrs. Glynn is the coach and she’s nice, laid back, and a great volleyball player, too! Most of us were new, so it was surprising at how quickly we figured out how to play as a team. Mrs. Glynn wants us to do well, but she mostly wants us to have fun. We’ve only played three games so far, and we’re getting better every time. If you’ve never played volleyball on an All Saints team, I think you should try it. It’s an action-packed game, never gets canceled due to the weather since it’s always in the gym, and it’s a blast! I know you’ll love it!

8th Grade Trip to Washington D.C.by: Molly Wiesman

This past March, the 8th grade class went to Washington D.C. We gathered at the school at 7:00 am on a cold morning full of anticipation and excitement, waiting for the coach busses to arrive. As we all filed into our seats, we gave a final wave to our parents and off we went. On our way to Washington, we stopped in Pennsylvania at the Flight 93 Memorial. We spent some time learning about the events that took place on that September 11th morning and the heroic acts of the passengers and crew on that plane. Later that evening, we finally arrived in Washington. That night, we did a little sightseeing and were able to visit the Lincoln, MLK and FDR Memorials. These were truly amazing sites to see. The next day we participated in the Changing of the Guard and were fortunate enough to get a tour of the Supreme Court. What an honor! On our final day, we as a class attended mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. After mass, we all had to say goodbye to this amazing city that is rich with history and make our way back home. I was glad to be back home but so grateful that we were able to experience this trip that I will never forget.
