Division 3 - Round 2vs Brisbane Water at Alan Davidson

A return home saw us win the toss and the skip elect to have a bat on the new surface. Davo’s new top greeted us with little bounce and a little bit of grab as Gaz and Stuey opened proceedings. After a solid Opening stand we lost Gaz and Sweetie in the space of an over or two, leaving Kered and the skip to keep going, the latter paying the price for trying to keep the runs flowing coming in to drinks. There were good partnerships between Bairdy and Crossy, and Bairdy and the Doctor, a quick cameo from the Yak before Kered was finally dismissed for 84. In a spot of bother at 9-215 some rear guard hitting from Richo and Gummy propelled us to 259 with 27 overs left in the day.

We rounded out Day 1 nicely with Lachie picking up two, Richo and Sweetie picking up 1 a piece. Day 2 saw us struggle to get an early breakthrough, with the two bluetongue bats repelling what was thrown at them. We lost Yak to a shoulder injury early in the piece and things were looking interesting as we passed twenty overs into the day without a wicket. Thankfully we turned the breakthrough into a double breakthrough with

sweetie and Gummy both picking up vital wickets. Bairdy pulled out a handy run out, and the skip chimed in with two before tea. The Bluetongues last bat through the willow and gave us a reminder of how to bowl to the tail, as our poor execution allowed the opposition to get a lot closer than the should have.

Man of the Match was Bairdy for his 84 on day 1.

U15B - Round 2 Lisarow- Narara V The Entrance

Lisarow – Narara 5-129 (Dec) def The Entrance 26 & 90After winning the toss we sent The Entrance in to bat. Some accurate swing bowling from our 1st 4 bowlers saw the opposition all out for 26 runs in the 16th over. Wickets were shared around with Ryan Bender 3-9, Lachlan Mackay 2-4, Luke Jacobs 2-12 and Byron Buckley with the amazing figures of 5 overs, 4 maidens 2 for 1.The run chase began quickly and a first innings win was achieved in the 7th over for the loss of no wickets. We batted on until the close of play to finish at 5 dec for 129. Ethan Frazer 35,

Alex Bauer 31, Ryan Bender 21 and Josh Moffit 22 not out.The 2nd innings was never going to be as easy as the 1st, but all the boys bowled and fielded well with some remarkable catching eventually sealing the outright win. A special mention to Josh Moffit who arrived to the ground on time with barely any sleep after travelling back from Melbourne the night before and dismissed the first 3 batsman for 0 runs in his first 2 overs!

Luke Abra-ColnanHe’s done it again..... another 100* by Luke on Saturday. Batting statistics for him are 2 innings, 2 not outs, 200 runs and no average.....yet!

Jaxon Foster

U13’s Jaxon on a Hat-Trick

Jaxon Forster joined the club with a passion for cricket and excelled with the ball in his very first game. Right arm over the wicket, Jaxon snared his first wicket with a catch to his trusty team mate behind square leg. Enter the new batsman and then exit quickly with middle stump lying lonely on the ground.

Jaxon marshalled his might and drew the fielders in to pressure the new batsman. Off the long run Jaxon bounded in, delivered a line and length ball towards the top of off. Unfortunately the batsman was up to the task respectfully watching the ball onto his bat, paying great respect to Jaxon’s line.

Well done Jaxon, a great start to the season.
