Respiratory therapy with the RC-Cornet® PLUS family meets the highest clinical standards regarding application and hygiene. in addition, studies* have shown that regular respiratory therapy with the RC-Cornet® family significantly lowers the need for antibiotics and hospitalisation in COPD patients.
The RC-Cornet® PLUS gently removes mucus from the lower airways, thus decreasing coughing and shortness of breath. The RC-Cornet® PLUS NaSaL can also be used to treat the upper airways. This lowers the risk of descending infections as well as the bronchial hypersensitivity, for example in asthma.
The integrated nebulizer connection provides for simultaneous respiratory and inhalation therapy with all variants of the RC-Cornet® PLUS family. This improves drug deposition and reduces the duration of treatment. Particularly in patients with a tracheostoma, the combination therapy with the RC-Cornet® PLUS TRaCHEO can improve the weaning process and mucus management.

Respiratory therapy is an important building block in the treatment of chronic diseases of the lower and upper airways. The key challenge in asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis and chronic sinusitis is to free the air-ways from mucus.

Clear nose – without drugs
The RC-Cornet® PLUS NaSaL gently frees the upper airways from mucus, thus allowing the mucus membrane to regenerate with regular use. The treatment improves nasal ventilation and noticeably frees the nose* – without the use of drugs. This lowers the risk of descending infec-tions as well as the bronchial hypersensitivity, for example in asthma.

Setting 1: Widening of the airways through vibrating air pressureBreathing out through the RC-Cornet® PLUS NaSaL generates vibrating air pressure, resulting in widening of the airways. This pressure opens up narrow passages and the vibrations liquefy the mucus.
Middle position: mobilisation of mucusThe mobilizing exhalation pressure with vibrations loosens the tough mucus deposits from the walls of the cavities and liquefies them. The patient is then able to effectively and easily swallow the loosened mucus. The susceptibility for infections is reduced.

The RC-Cornet® PLUS family use the entire exhaled air to effectively clear the airways. Even very weak patients can take advantage of the therapy. The RC-Cornet PLUS® has 2 settings with 4 resistances each, starting at an exhalation pressure of 5 cm H2O. in tracheostoma patients, the RC-Cornet® PLUS TRACHEO enables respiratory therapy using a 15-mm cannula (tube).
Starting situationNarrowed bronchi obstructed by mucus.
Setting 1: STaBiLiZiNGPEP™Narrowed passages are widened, thus improving ventilation in parts of the alveoli. This reduces shortness of breath and hyperinflation of the lungs.
Setting 2: mOBiLiZiNGPEP™The mobilizing exhalation pressure with vibrations loosens the tough mucus deposits from the bronchial walls and liquefies them. The patient is then able to effectively and easily cough up the loosened mucus. The susceptibility for infections is reduced.

Effectively combine respiratory and inhalation therapy with nebulizersThe integrated standardised iSO 22-mm nebulizers connection of the RC-Cornet® PLUS family provides for simultaneous respiratory and inhalation therapy with nebulizers to improve secretolysis.
This, in turn, means that drugs or isotonic saline solution can be delivered to the airways more rapidly and effectively, thus reducing the duration of therapy of the upper and lower air-ways. Drug deposition is improved.
* The course of the treatment is not foreseeable in patients with a strong tendency to develop polyps.
