HOW TO GIVE
ALTAR FLOWERS
Parishioners who participated in our August Town Hall Meeting made numerous sugges-tions for providing altar flowers. Here are the ones we have decided to implement:
As before, you can sign up to have Clau-dia Coe order the flowers from our floral provider, parishioner Kendra Hernandez, Back-en-Thyme. The cost is $44.00. Claudia collects the money and places the order. You let Claudia know (335-0927) what dedication you would like to have in the Sunday bulletin (please do so by the Tues-day preceding your Sunday). Also, if no one has signed up for a Sunday and you decide you want to, please let Claudia know by Tuesday.
Or, you can indicate on the sign-up sheet (or notify Claudia by Tuesday) that you will provide the flowers yourself for a Sunday—either from home gardens or your own purchase. Please notify Claudia about the dedication as indicated above.
Or, you may make a monetary donation to the Memorial Fund designated for “Altar Flowers”. In this case, there is no specific dedication because we only draw on the fund to supply flowers when no one has signed up.
Currently, there is a sign- up sheet on the bul-letin board in Story Fellowship Hall with op-portunities to provide flowers through Ad-vent. Sometime in November Claudia will post a sign-up sheet for 2012.
KEITH FOSTER TO LEAD ST. ANDREW’S 2012 FINANCIAL
COMMITMENT CAMPAIGN
For the third year, Keith Foster will take the reigns for our Fall Financial Commitment Campaign. This annual campaign provides parishioners and friends of the parish with the opportunity to pledge monetary support to fund St. Andrew’s mission and ministry for the coming year—this year for 2012. Kickoff for the campaign will be on Sunday, October 9. Pledge cards will be distributed to those in attendance on that Sunday and mailed to those not in attendance during the following week.
ST. ANDREW'S CAT'S MEOW
Remember the “St. An-drew’s Cat’s Meow” keepsakes we ordered in
2002? In response to several requests, we plan to order similar ones in time for Christmas. The cost is $15, and we are placing an order sheet in Story Hall. Questions? Call Sue Tim-mons 335-5351.
THANK YOU FOR WORKDAY
Thank you to all who helped with our outside work day on Saturday, September 10 We had 20 workers—the most we've had in a long time. In addition, several who could not come on Saturday came during the week to pitch in. We painted, worked on landscaping, trimmed trees, cleaned out gutters, power-washed, sowed grass seed, and much more. Please check the poster in the Parish Hall for jobs that still need to be done. Or, if you are una-ble to help in person, please consider helping us hire outside help.
Thanks again, Bob Timmons, Junior Warden
A BIG THANK YOU — to Kim Stover and Jane Stout for keeping
the Memorial Garden and many other areas weed-free and looking wonderful
throughout the spring and summer.
