Haralson County Schools PBIS News September, 2016
The Rebel Way
The new school year is well underway, and PBIS teams across the county have been work-
ing feverishly to promote PBIS in Haralson County. Each school team has completed
booster team training this fall and has exciting plans in place for the school year. We are
excited about sharing all of the PBIS activities throughout the county through our news-
letters.
Hope you enjoy!
Haralson County Schools….A Georgia Charter School System….Where Learning Comes First
Haralson County Schools were challenged to participate in a “Tri The Parks” Triathlon
in September. Several folks from our schools decided to take the challenge. We had
swimmers, runners and bikers. Each of the teams finished the triathlon and left with a
great sense of accomplishment. It just goes to show we walk the “The REBEL WAY”
every where we go!

Haralson County Middle School The new students at HCMS
were inducted into their
Houses! The ceremony is
always exciting and full of
rivalry! The Houses com-
pete all year for House
points to win the coveted
House Trophy!
HCMS was proud to send a team
to compete in a PBIS Challenge
Triathlon at Tanner’s Beach.
Shane Herringdine, Hannah
Welch and Fran Pointer repre-
sented HCMS at the competition.
During this event, different
schools competed against each
other to build comradery and for
bragging rights. Even though
HCMS did not finish in first place,
everyone involved had a great
time.

Molly is a 7th grade student at HCMS. Her writing was
published in the August , 2016 edition of the Rebel Yell.
The Rebel Way is in full swing at
HCMS. Thus far, the staff has taught
two school-wide PBIS lessons. The
first lesson focused on school-wide be-
havioral expectations. The second ad-
dressed proper behavior during
school assemblies. We are happy to re-
port that our students responded well
to these lessons and can regularly be
found setting behavioral examples to
emulate. Thanks to our great stu-
dents, the school logged a total of
FIVE disciplinary referrals for the
month of August.! Way to go Rebels!
The PBIS team at HCMS sponsored a “Top Dawg”
party to celebrate the many successes already seen
at HCMS this school year. The faculty and staff were
treated with “super dogs” and all of the trimmings
for lunch!

always do your best.
Second graders at BPS
had their pictures made

year of their graduation.
These pictures were tak-

all grades. Students and faculty
participated in dress-up days
throughout the week. We have
lots of heroes at BPS, both young
