RAIL TRAIL FACTS The towns that you ride through or near are Clyde, Alexandra, Chatto Creek, Omaku, Lauder, Auripo, Otureua, Rainfurly, Waipaita, Kokonga, Tiroiti, Rock and Pillar, Ngapuna and Middlemarch.
You can bike run or walk on the rail trail.
You can ride on the rail trail all year round.
There are hills and bridges on the rail trail.
There are environmental toilets on the rail trail you have to bring your own toilet paper.
There are no places to stop and have a drink but there are hotels ,motels ,restraunts and cafe's.
The rail trail is rated easy by people that have rode on it. It’s good for kids and adults.
Winds can be stronger in summer than any other time in the year.
There are sheds on the rail trail in case the weather changes to rain or strong winds.
Some times in summer it can get to 40degress and drop to the early teens in a few hours.
The rail trail is not really set up for camping and in summer if you were to camp there it would be a total fire band.
You don’t have to be fit to be able to go on the rail trail.
It doesn’t cost to go on the rail trail its free all year round.
It doesn't matter if you start at Middlemarch or Clyde.
It is a huge tourist attraction.
There are 97 bridges on the rail trail
There are 13 tunnels on the Rail Trail
There are 5 major summits
