Hello to my 5th lesson in the Swedish language:

“The Pronounce Part 4”

Kj & Tj & Sj & Skj & Stj

We ALWAYS pronouns Kj & Tj like the Swedish RS or the English SH >>> /ɕ/

Example for Kj:

Kjol = Skirt

Examples for Tj:

Tjock = Thick

Tjej = Girl

In south of Sweden we pronouns Sj & Skj & Stj like /ɧ/ and in the north of Sweden like /ɕ/

Examples for Sj:

Sjuk = Sick

Sjukhus = Hospital

Sjunga = Sing

Examples for Skj:

Skjorta = Shirt

Skjuta = Shoot

Examples for Stj:

Stjäla = Steal

Stjärn = Star
