The Purpose of My Proposed Study
The Problem with Trash
Research Question: How can Alternative Resource Management Create Jobs?
By incorporating the concept of recycling into industry, technological resources can be re-used.
Metal recycling plants can be created, instituting jobs. Transportation industries can incorporate cleaner fuel
sources from the creation of biodiesel, eliminating the crop waste within farmer fields. (Horizon, 2014).
Accounting employees, vendors, and technological individuals can be used in different departments, as a way of preserving valuable employees. (M.U.S.E, 2014).
Resources can be recycled and re-used within the manufacturing industry, for other re-useable products like plumbing pipes, and other products for construction resources, etc, reducing cost and creating jobs. (Horizon, 2014).
How Recycling can be Applied to Business
Agricultural Waste Management
Composting, animal fecal matter, in order to create fertilizer can improve soil quality.
Using agricultural, and corn stalk waste, to create biodiesel fuel, can be helpful in order to reduce fuel cost for transportation companies.
The incorporation of solar and wind energy, can reduce the over-consumption of electricity, in order to power homes, and businesses.
Donating old clothes, electronics, equipment, and donating unused metals to recycling plants can contribute to re-use.

Employment Opportunities and Minorities
There are many populations of people that may not have internet access, or educational opportunities unlike others, it is the responsibility of career recruiters to recruit a wide variety of people from minorities, and diverse groups, in order to distribute wealth, pose diverse viewpoints and add new ideas and innovations into the workplace.
Elements of Qualitative Research Describes a problem or condition. An inductive process: used to develop a theory of
hypothesis. May include interviews, focus groups, and
documents. Includes in-depth information on a few cases. Less generalized. Can be valid or reliable. More subjective-Describes a problem/condition. Unstructured/semi-structured response options.
(Thibault, 2014).
Elements of Quantative Research A deductive process used to test a theory,
hypothesis, or specific concepts. Statistical tests are used for analysis. More generalized. Number based. Less in-depth, uses more cases. More objective-provides observed effects. Has fixed response option.
(Thibault, 2014).
Testing a Theory I am testing the theory, that by the incorporation of
recycling methods, a person/person’s can help the environment, and the economy. I am incorporating quantitative methodology, by using a deductive process, in order to test my hypothesis/theory. I am also, using the phenomenology, and case study methods, which consist of: identifying the essence of human experiences about a phenomenon as described by all of the participants of the study, involving an activity, program, or process.
(Cicourel, A, 1967).
Methods Sarah Owens, will be preserving her trash, in large
barrels for a four-week period of time, the amount of trash being collected within each barrel will be recorded. Anne Heche, will be putting plastics, aluminum cans, and paper, within three individual recyclable containers over a four-week period. After the four-week period is over Sarah will be throwing away her trash, and it will be recorded, then Anne, will be recycling her plastics, aluminum cans, and paper, and that will be recorded, and it will be documented how both participants have impacted the environment.
Analysis What will be audio recorded is the original views
from Sarah Owens, and Anne Heche, on the concept of recycling, and their individual thoughts on the subject. The trash and recyclables will be recorded on a weekly basis, (for example: how much trash, and recyclables are collected in containers, weekly). After four-weeks, the normal trash that will be thrown-away will be recorded, and the impact that has on the environment. Then, in the case of Anne Heche, she will be recycling her disposables, and that will be recorded, then, an analysis will be made on how that has impacted the environment
Summary, Question, and Answer The summary of this case study will include
the statistical data, and an over-all research depicting how much is being wasted by not recycling and the impact that, that has on the environment, and how much of the environment, and how economically, recycling is over-all and the benefits of recycling and incorporating recycling into an individuals daily life. There will be a question and answer session, and a discussion.
What Can People Do to Help the Environment? Recycling reuses materials, rather than just
using new ones. If a person recycled paper, that could make more paper, using the used paper, instead of having to cut down whole new trees. In order to recycle paper a person could put wasted paper into a container, and at the end of the week take this paper to a recycling plant to be recycled and re-used. This could be done with plastics, and aluminum cans. (Full Cycle, 2014).

Bing.com Sociological theory, and testing concepts were taken from Albert
Cicourel. A sociological theorist. Connel, R.W, was a sociological theorist, that applied quantative and
qualitative theory to many case studies. Dedoose, offers mixed method and qualitative data research software. Dictionary.com, is a great tool to use when learning about multi-
culturalism. Duke University, has done many studies on how much society wastes
and how the incorporation of recycling would be helpful.
