Senior Adult NightIt was a special time of just being together with another record-breaking crowd in attendance. It was a night where everything went well, and I would like to first thank the Lord for making it possible. I would also like to thank so many of you. I look forward to this event every year where so many people are involved. I love to see it all come together to make possible a special night for all. I really have to have a lot of faith to let this happen and it always does. Again, thank you, Lord.

A BIG Triple L THANKS to: the Decorating Committee, Jay Chesnutt and Don Jemison, Servers, Grace Conner, the Planning Committee, and Donna and Jack McCown.

I have enclosed for your review the topics that we discussed (Ways to Serve, Future Trips, and Possible Trips for 2018). In His love, Jerry

Mustang DinerAnother wonderful day at the Mustang Diner! It was reported that we had a record crowd to join in the fun, fellowship, good food and entertainment. Nancy, Delana, and Randy were excellent hosts. This was a total Crimson Insulation project to make such an eventful day. Many thanks go out to all their employees and a special thank you to Martha and Joe Boteler. Bonnie and Pearl sang their hearts

out for us and brought back many memories of days past with their music. We hope to

get invited back to the Mustang Diner in the future!

“The Live Music Capitol of the World” Triple L members and guests who made the trip to Branson the week of May 21-27 saw shows directed toward a more diverse audience than in the past. Fifteen or twenty years ago country music dominated the theatres, and there are still a number of country music shows to enjoy. The two original shows from the late 1960’s, “Presley’s Country Jubilee” and “The Baldknobbers” are still very popular country music and comedy shows. The seven shows that our group enjoyed included “The Liverpool Legends,” a tribute to the Beatles by four young men from Britain who performed songs made popular by the Beatles. These young men may be more talented than the originals. They visited our bus after the show and from our response, you would think that John, Paul, George, and Ringo had suddenly appeared. “Voices of Glory” featured three African-American siblings from upstate New York who had appeared on “America’s Got Talent”. The two brothers and a sister could sing any type of music, even gospel, as a trio or solo. Their tribute to our veterans was very impressive. For dining, singing, dancing, comedy, magic and audience participation the

“Showboat Branson Belle” had it all. This is where our own Layne Weeks became a star. Other shows enjoyed were “Puttin’ on the Ritz”, singing and dancing to great music from the movies; “Dublin’s Irish Tenors and Celtic Ladies,” another group of talented young people from Britain; and the “Million Dollar Quartet,” a show about four entertainers - Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis - who recorded for Sun Records at one time. The four young men played their parts really well.

Named the number one show in Branson and number one on our list is “MOSES”. It is impossible to adequately describe the production of this story from the Bible. Just imagine that you are in a theatre with a stage that surrounds three sides of the building and at times there is action all around. The music, acting, set construction, scenery and costumes are definitely on a professional level. You sit in amazement while watching the burning bush, the Ten Commandments being burned into stone, Moses’ staff turning into a serpent, and the parting of the sea. If you happened to have an aisle seat, keep your hands in front or you may touch a live camel, horse, sheep or other animals as they move down to the stage. This performance is so real, counselors are provided at the end to talk with anyone about the plan of salvation. I’m sorry, there is not enough space for “Life on the Bus”. I’ll just mention laughter, jokes, games, prizes, snacks and the excitement of a fender bender. Thank you Jerry, Tommy Hester, Rosalind Holloman, Patsy Griffith, and Lowell Vann for your morning devotionals, they are always an important part of our trips. I don’t know how Jerry and Helen could have done any more toward the success of a great trip. THANK YOU!!!
