On Saturday, May 21st, the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol Local Bangor Squadron 807 recently attended the annual Group Four Awards Banquet at Quakertown Airport. Cadet Taralyn Thrasher, a Bangor cadet, was given the Billy Mitchell Award and promoted to Cadet, Second Lieutenant. Taralyn is an honor student at Faith Chris- tian School in Roseto. She plans on attending the Air Force Academy or Liberty University’s AFROTC program. The Billy Mitchell Award honors the late General Billy Mitchell, an aviation pioneer, advocate, and staunch supporter of an indepen- dent air force for America. The Civil Air Patrol, Civil Air Patrol Cadet Achieves Milestone the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force, has three primary missions: Aerospace Education of the Ameri- can people; Emergency Services; and the Cadet Program. Congratu- lations, Ashley, from the Dotta Family! Schoch’s Harley Davidson in Snyders- ville, will be holding a Build The Sanctuary Ride on Saturday, July 16th. Registration starts at 10:30am at Schoch’s, and the ride begins at noon. The ride will be a one and a half to two hour ride through the Poconos, ending at the West End Fire Hall in Brodheadsville. The Fire Hall will then have food, entertainment, and a car, truck, and bike show. The cost is a $20 donation per person, and all proceeds will be donated to Camp Papil- lon Pet Adoption and Rescue. Schoch’s will be hosting a Ride To Help The Hungry on July 24th. Registration starts at 9:30am at Schoch’s and kickstands go up at 11am. The cost is $10 and 10 CAP continued on page 10 Schoch’s Harley Davidon Announces Summer Charity Rides cans of food for riders, and $5 and five cans of food for the passenger. The ride will be roughly two hours, through the western part of Monroe County, ending with a gathering at West End Fire Hall. There will be food, fun, and entertain- ment. All proceeds from this ride will be donated to the Supplemental Food Resource Center at the Effort United Meth- odist Church. The Annual Cal Schoch Sr. Memorial Ride will be held on Saturday, August 13th, at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond. Registration will begin at 9:30am at the racetrack. The cost is $25 per rider, and $10 per passenger. The event will include laps around Pocono Raceway, a Poker Run back to Schoch’s, a pig roast, and entertainment.
