I would like to thank the members of First Presbyterian Church for allowing Mom and I to attend for the last 18 years. Mom and I always enjoyed the services each Sunday. You always made Mom and I feel part of the First Presbyterian family. With Mom's passing I am relocating to The Woodlands, north of Houston. My daughter and her family live in the area. I will really miss Magnolia and all my friends here, but it's time to be nearer to my daughter. My rental house is a couple of blocks away from the local Presbyterian Church. I'm looking forward to attending that church. Thank you for all you have done for Mom and I to make us feel part of the church family. We were very lucky to have you all in our lives. We loved watching all the kids grow up before our eyes. Sharyn Ahlstrom

We’re at end of school, and in June Kid’s Club will move to 1-3. Remember, if you want to bring a guest, I MUST have signed permission forms with contact information for each child present. Any outings off the church campus will require a separate permission form, and we plan on swimming and other off-campus activities, so please be patient and understanding of the rules. Thank you, May volunteers Katherine Phillips, Joanna Smith, Olivia Smith, Susan Dees, and Lea West. VBS is July 15-18 from 9-noon…please save the dates!....This year’s curriculum is “Roar”. There is a preschool class for potty-trained kids who’ve not attended kindergarten, and intergenerational classes for those who’ve completed K-5th Grades. You can pre-register at vbspro.events/p/firstpresvbs Our church manned the coke booth Friday of Magnolia Blossom Festival, and I appreciate all the help from those who signed up: David & Matthew DeSeguirant, Olivia Smith, Katherine Phillips, Drew Moore, & John Allen Gean. It was a fun volunteer job, helpful for the festival planners, and a good way for us to show support as a church for our community. Changing into “Treasurer’s” hat, I want to give a sincere thank you to Rick Murphy, Cindy Groce, and Keith

DuPriest for helping me with the time-consuming task of transferring the Cameroon funds overseas to Pierre. It

took much longer than past years, with much more “red tape”, interviews, and many futile attempts due to

increased fraud. Combined, it was almost 10 hours of work to process the transactions and I thank each of you

for making it happen! The blessings that come from the generosity of our church to the people of Cameroon

are shared with you!

Kathy Gean Director of Youth & Family Ministries

Fun in the sun Enjoy some summer-themed laughter while you lounge! Seen on a church sign (and appropriate for grilling season): “God doesn’t make misteaks.” Person approaching a shoreline: “Is this river any good for fish?” Response: “It must be. I can’t get any of them to leave it. Q: Why do people go to church in the summer? A: It’s prayer-conditioned! Q: Why was it so hot in the stadium after the game? A: All the fans left. Q: While hiking, how can you identify a dogwood tree? A: By its bark. Q: What do sheep have on sunny days? A: A baa-baa-cue!
