8:00 AM – 9:15 AMThe Role of Micronutrients in Outcome and Recovery After Critical Illness (T10) ASPEN is honored to award the 2020 Rhoads Research Lecture to Mette Berger, MD, PhD, from the Lausanne University Hospital, Lausanne, Switzerland. Dr. Berger is a world-renowned professor and researcher in the field of nutrition and metabolism in critically ill patients. She has spoken globally on the role of micronutrients in major burns, trauma, and patients on continuous renal replacement therapy. Dr. Berger has over 230 peer-reviewed publications and 40 book chapters.

You will not want to miss Dr. Berger’s discussion on the essential micronutrients involved in recovery after critical illness; the impact of deficiency on health status; the conditions which put a patient at risk of acute deficiency as well as doses and routes of administration to prevent complications; and the impact of continuous renal replacement on micronutrient requirements.
