The New Hampshire Confession of Faith

This Confession was drawn up by the Rev. John Newton Brown, D. D., of New Hampshire about 1833, and was adopted by the New Hampshire Convention, and widely accepted by Baptists, especially in the Northern and Western States, as a clear and concise statement of their faith, in harmony with the doctrines of older confessions, but expressed in milder form. The text is taken from the Baptist Church Manual, published by the American Baptist Publication Society, Philadelphia. It did not have a “rapture” reference.

Pre-Trib Rapture added to it sometime in 20th century after Rome infiltrated the Baptist Church on a scale of great magnitude.

Pastor Jacoby removed “pre-trib rapture” in early 2012 from our churches statement of faith.

I do not know any visitor or new person in our church who believes in a pre-trib rapture. Only preaching missionaries.

Let’s take a look at the earliest known reference to the word rapture which indicates that “it is to be taken up into heaven.” The saints will be caught up, but when and how?

We find that the English word rapture (from Jerome’s Latin) is in the Jesuit/Douay Rheims Bible of 1610. Strangely, this word and teaching was removed from the D-R some time after 1610.

Prior to the start of the Oxford movement in the 1820’s, Jesuit priests Lacunza and Ribera had been providing documentation fueling this doctrine. Vatican subscribers Darby (word rapture in his bible and many alignments in text to Rome) and Scofield further advanced the teaching to many in the Blayney KJV community. How would have Christians reacted if Anton LaVey of the Church of Satan said that his coven wanted to update the 1611 bible and invent/teach doctrine? A safe assumption is that there would have been an outcry because of their evil professing beliefs and appearances. Many professing Christians prefer coats/ties, scholarship and market laudation before welcoming Rome to change and then explain their bible.

Top Baptist Scholar: Although Dr. Blayney changed the texts, I just don’t see how it affects core doctrine like the Virgin birth or Deity of Christ. (JD comment Blayney was not a Dr. at the time of his KJV work) We’ll be raptured! Lesson in Acts 8:People can hear, receive, and believe on the Word of God. They can even be baptized by bible believers. The holy Ghost comes only to those who do not give laudation to men and who believe in the prophets of God. You must also repent of your sin/unrighteousness.

I recently purchased your book "Standing Without Apology" and on pg 244 you state that Bob Jones Sr. served on the editorial board of the Amplified Bible in the 1930's.  According to the Lockman foundation,the start of the Amplified Bible was in the 1950's.  I was just curious about this, and any information you could provide would be helpful. Or, was he part of an organized effort to be transformed as a minister of righteousness to kill the credibility of the 1611 bible by being a pompous public sin spectacle? Either way, he never used or believed in the 1611 testimony, using instead Vatican MSS subscriber Blayney’s counterfeit KJV with insights from Vatican MSS subscribers Strong and Scofield. God penalizes those who do not believe every word. The Jesuits say they will renounce the Pope if it fits the purpose of advancing the church of Rome. Did Hyles function in this capacity? Jesus speaks of an incredible end time deception that if it were possible, the very elect would be deceived. (See Mat 24) Where is the discernment of the holy Ghost if all these people got saved?
