The Standard (Ethic) of Christian Living
Baptism removes not only the “old” man of sin but also the “old” standards by which we live.
Colossians 3:1b (NAS)
“…keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”
Colossians 3:2 (NAS)
“2Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”
Colossians 3:3-4 (NAS)
“3For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.”
Elements of Christian Standard
1. Personal Holiness• Avoid sexual sins• Avoid sins of the tongue• Avoid lies
• Pursue sexual purity• Pursue gracious speech• Pursue truth
The Christian Standard
The new standard is heavenly, is the one that comes from Christ.
This is the standard Christians are to focus on, live by.

“ 5Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead...”

“... to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. ”
