Oh, the places you’ll go!-Dr Seuss
Synopsis Quotes from bookDr Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go! Is one of his many famous childrens books. He shows the different chices that life has for you, crazy adventures and wonderfully unique creatures, with colorful and cretive imagery?pictures. He creates great ryythm, rhyme and repitition that captures the audience. This book has very personal onnection fo me, not only as I was read numerous Dr Seuss books as a child, but because this specific book appealed to me as an adult. Thats the other amazing thing about Dr Seuss, his books are not only captivating for children but I feel they are written so well that you cant help but find some
inspiration in your own life as an adult.
Massachusetts, on March 2, 1904. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1925, he went to Oxford University, intending to acquire a doctorate in literature. At Oxford, Geisel met Helen Palmer, whom he wed in 1927. Upon his return to America later that year, Geisel published cartoons and humorous articles for JUDGE, the leading humor magazine in America at that time. His cartoons also appeared in major magazines such as LIFE, VANITY FAIR, and LIBERTY. Geisel gained national exposure when he won an advertising contract for an insecticide called Flit. He coined the phrase, “Quick, Henry, the Flit!” which became a popular expression. Geisel published his first children’s book, AND TO THINK THAT I SAW IT ON MULBERRY STREET, in 1937, after 27 publishers rejected it.In 1954, Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Hersey challenged Geisel to write a story “first graders wouldn’t be able to put down.” And that’s just what Geisel did, using a vocabulary of only 236 words. In 1957, Random House published THE CAT IN THE HAT, a book that continues to charm children more than 50 years later.Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1984, an Academy Award, three Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards, and three Caldecott Honors, Geisel wrote and illustrated 44 books. While Theodor Geisel died on September 24, 1991, Dr. Seuss lives on, inspiring generations of children of all ages
to explore the joys of reading.
“A person’s a person, no matter how small,” Theodor Seuss Geisel (a.k.a. Dr. Seuss) said. “Children want the same things we want. To laugh, to be challenged, to be ntertained and delighted.” Brilliant, playful, and always respectful of children, Dr. Seuss charmed his way intot he consciousness of four generations of youngsters and parents. In the process, he helped millions of kids learn to read. Dr. Seuss was born Theodor Geisel in Springfield,

I was given this book on my high school graduation day
by my mom. I cannot think of a better book for children,
people graduating ANYTHING, people who are opening a
chapter in their life, or even those who may have just closed
one. I still look back to this book when I need a a fresh pair
of eyes in which to view the world.
Wow! What wonderful stuff. A book about life, the ups
and downs you will experience, a warning to not be one
of those people who just wait around for life to happen to
them, Dr Seuss recommends going out there and grabbing
life with both hands and enjoying it no matter what life
throws at you. A brilliant taster for you...wo.
Congratulations!
Today is you day.
You’re off to great places!
You’re off and away
On and on you will hike.
And I know you;ll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.
I;m sorry to say co
but, sadly, it’s true
that Bang-ups
and Hang-ups
can happen to you.
On and on you will hike.
And I know you’ll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.

Final 2 Fonts
oh the places you’ll go!Yikes!I like this font as a final as I feel it has a playful edge. This is great as it is a childrens book. Even the name is palyful and vibrant.
oh, the places you’ll go!Kristen ITCI like this variety in the sizes of the letters, some are smaller and some are much larger, once again giving a palyful child like feel. Especially because children write in different sizes.
Original Book Cover Critique
I like this book cover, I chose this book as it is my favorite not because I feel it lacked something in the cover. I prefer the typeface on the first one as I think it looks better in lower case letters than in uppr case. I love the colors and I think this is a great selling point to the audience: children. The contrast between the yellow type and the purple background works great as they are complimentary colors, Most of this cover is graphics so I will be interested in how I can make a good cover using type only. This is a challenge as most childrens books are with graphics.I have decided to create a game for the kids on the back cover to get their attention. Either a word search as this hellps with reading or a connect the dots so they create the image.
