Pinterest starts out as a pin board, where you can place your interests, recipes, wish lists, bookmarks, video links, etc. From there, it branches off into groups where other users can share

pins with each other. This is extremely powerful marketing potential and that why it has us Internet Marketers so interested. Here is a sample of the Pinterest layout. As the user, you choose your own

content feed based on your interests.

While Pinterest is taking over households by storm, it’s also extremely popular with our favorite search engine, Google. image for your profile (this is important). Write a short biography. Verify your website. Link it up with Facebook and Twitter.

Now go and create a board about your niche. So let's

go with the... Health & Eating niche. You would call it

"Healthy Dieting Tips" Next you need to come up with a quick tip about your

product. Let's go with... Weight Loss Products! And our tip will be... “How To Lose 10 Lbs With These 5 Fruits”

Next, either hire a designer or using ms paint, place

this information tip onto an enticing image (perhaps,

six pack abs, or a beautiful person). Make it really great looking and very clear.

Now on your blog write a full on article covering tips on

the topic your image tip is writing about. In our example, we would write an article with lots of weight loss and healthy eating tips.

Now just upload your image to Pinterest and then in

the description write "For More Tips on Healthy

Eating visit MY-WEBSITE-LINK" and link to your blog post. It's as easy as that. It gives a reason for people to click and makes your images much more enticing!

5 Steps To Creating Viral Pins Here are 5 steps to follow to guarantee popular pins, every time. #1: Optimize Your Name, Boards and Pins for Pinterest Search Make sure your name is relevant, and your board names are relevant #2: Pinning Constantly

The more you pin, the more weight Pinterest will place on your pins. By pinning constantly, you are much more likely to have your pins placed in the “featured pins” sections. #3: Pin at Different Hours of the Day For me, the best time to be pinning was early morning hours, and evenings after work. Experiment with different posts at different times until you feel you have found the perfect amount of exposure.

#4: Re-pin Popular Old Pins Refreshing your old content will keep it current, and increase the chances of somebody else coming across it in their feed. #5: Participate in Pinterest Group Boards

Pinning in group boards will give your pins massive exposure, to

What Is Call To Action?

Call To Action is the method of engaging a user to click a link out to your website or product offer.

This is extremely important to incorporate into your pins. Think about it this way, you are basically telling the user what to do, guiding them in the right direction.


Here’s an example, which of these images do you think would produce

higher clicks to your website?

Studies show that calling on the audience to “click” leads to a

200-1000% increase in traffic to your website.

Simply using MS Paint or Picasa Photo Editor, I was able to create a

much more appealing and clear Pin image.


Using Group Boards For Traffic

Many successful group boards have tens of thousands of contributors and followers, so they’re a great way of getting your pins in front of a large target audience in a much shorter time. One of my group boards has 30,000 daily active followers, here’s a quote from the boards founder:

“The group board gets more repins per image because it’s so popular.

I’ve tested pinning to my boards first vs. the group board and the pins

on the group board are always more popular, even though personally I

have more followers than my group board.”

Let’s get started by making our own board first. In the top right

navigation, scroll to “Create a board”. You can make your own “Group

Board” to start out, try getting a few friends involved to practice. Name

the board something relevant to your blog or website.


Where To Find Group Boards

There are so many places to look for group boards. Have you thought about Google? Yes, you can search for lots of information, and research which boards are accepting contributors. Another way is to search pinterest. One popular method for me

was the TopGroupBoards Pinterest group. You can search them up on the Pinterest website. This group lists the largest contributor group boards for you, so all you have to do is find your niche, then contact the board owner! Remember, you must have a good presentation before you contact board owners. Keep a clean account, with a long and legitimate pin history. You should develop a series of boards for

yourself first.

Try to pin approximately 100 pins into 10-20 different boards to get

your account looking nice.


Integrating CPA Affiliate Offers

If you are looking for an additional revenue stream from your social media account, this is one surefire way to make a few extra sales each month. Keep in mind, when you are adding affiliate offers to your pins, you have to mask them.

By masking links, you have to go to a website such as bit.ly and paste your affiliate offer URL in there URL shortening bar, take the shortened bit.ly URL, and use that for your pin. Otherwise, you are going to get in trouble for posting offers. It can be considered spam if you are not careful While it is not advised to post offers in your pins, in small

amounts it will hardly be noticed. Remember to add 80-90% original, legitimate content.

The remaining 10-20% of your pins can be beautiful images.


Pinterest Image Recognition

One thing worth mentioning is sites like Pinterest and Google use image

recognition algorithms to identify duplicate content.

This is where you will need to create your own images. You can add captions to your images, create your own collages, cut out features, etc. This is another reason I add text to every image. It actually makes them unique and gives them better chance of going viral.

My Pinterest Project Results

Day 1: I’ve got my blog setup; I’m trickling in content to test how things look. Customize my logo, theme files, page placement. Day 2: I’ve submitted my website to Google Webmaster Tools for indexing

Day 3: Adding links everywhere I can comment, social media, forums, blog commenting. Get your link out there, but be classy about it. Add value to the original authors post in your comment, don’t be spammy. Day 4: testing… testing… testing… Get the posts, images, keywords, and layout to a point I am happy with. Recreating my

own images was KEY for the social networks to see my content is truly original. Day 5: Start an intensive Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Pinterest blasting campaign with your content links. I targeted my traffic to ONLY these countries: USA/Canada/Australia/UK. Example: pick groups and pages where the users are primarily from English speaking countries.


Google Analytics Data

Every day, I wake up and the first thing I do is check my Google Analytics. Every website or blog must have Google Analytics installed, it’s a

must. Here’s my Google Analytics data for Day 1 – Day 40 of my project:


As you can see from the chart, I started out with around 150 visitors on my launch day. On February 20th, I surpassed 10,000 visitors per day. This is all 92% USA traffic.. the advertising companies LOVE it! Week 2: I’m already seeing a minimum of 4000 visitors per day. Week 3: I Now have over 400 pieces of original content, all getting indexed and passed around ALL popular Social Networks.


Week 4-6: Steady 10,000-12,000 visitors per day. The Alexa rank is in the US top 150,000 out of over ten million websites.

My primary source of advertising revenue has been Google Adsense. This side project alone has given me a passive income of $1500 per month, with zero costs and practically no work involved after the first 30 days! Copyright 2014 | Social Examiner
