Four Row Tapered Roller Bearing
The four row tapered roller bearing with cylindrical bore is designed to maximize the load capacity with minimum space, and is widely used for roll neck of lower, medium speed rolling mills.The bearing of this type is made up of one double outer ring, two single row outer rings, two double inner rings and inner ring spacer/outer ring spacer.Since each component is not interchangeable, it is necessary to assemble each component as specified with care taken to the matching marks marked on the bearing.
The TDO type bearing is made up of one double outer ring, two single row inner rings and one inner ring spacer. The outer ring is provided with several lubrication holes. The inner ring spacer has been adjusted to provide an end play suitable to each application. It is also possible to freely adjust the end play for use by removing the inner ring spacer, however, it requires time and labor.Suitable to case where moment may act. Used for speed reducer, winding machine, etc.The steep angle type (TDOS type) having large contact angle has increased axial load capacity, and is widely used for worm shaft of medium, heavy duty applications, thrust bearing od reducers etc.

The cylindrical roller bearings consists of one inner ring, one sphered-outer ring, cylindrical rolling elements, and aligning ring. Cylindrical roller bearings with aligning ring practically are full-complement cylindrical roller bearings which give maximum load capacity. This bearing is also coupled with an aligning ring shaft providing aligning functions to prevent any wear problems caused by sliding and enabling the smooth relief of roll expansion rather than axial movement. In addition, this type of bearing can also be provided with cage design.Cylindrical Roller Bearings with aligning rings is designed to support the guide rollers of continuous casting machines.Cylindrical roller bearings with aligning rings reduce unexpected breakdowns and lower maintenance cost to a minimum by using rolls to the full extent of operating life.

The single-row deep groove ball bearings consist of four basic components. These are the inner ring, the outer ring, balls and a retaining cage. They are the most common type of rolling bearing. The bearing of this type can support axial load in both directions, and is mainly used to support the axial load on roll neck of rolling mills. Since the shaft washer is treated with a clearance fit to the shaft, the shaft washer must be tightened and fixed securely with a sleeve.The axial clearance is commonly adjusted by means of spacer. The bearing without spacer is preloaded by spring, etc. For use.

Spherical roller bearings have two rows of barrel shaped rolling elements between the double-raced inner ring and the spherical race of the outer ring. These bearings are known for their self-aligning capability. The center of the outer ring’s raceway aligns with the center of the bearing. If there is a deflection of the shaft housing or misalignment of their axes, it is automatically corrected to prevent any excessive force from being applied on the bearing. In addition to this ,spherical roller bearings can accommodate high radial loads as well as high axial loads acting on both directions.Various types of spherical roller bearings have been introduced, including the CC,CA types & Brash Cage.

Application:
Angular contact ball bearings are suitable for applications which require high accuracy and good high-speed performance. This type of bearing is designed to carry a combined load.Single row angular contact ball bearings and matched pair angular contact ball bearings: The standard contact angles are 15°,30° and 40°. They are identified, respectively, by the supplementary codes “C”,”A” and “B”. Bearings with a smaller contact angle are more suitable for applications involving high speed rotation. Those with a larger contact angle feature superior axial load resistance.When this type of bearing is loaded radially, an axial component of force is produced. In thiscase, two bearings are used together facing one another, or two or more bearings are matched and used.

Spherical thrust bearings are designed to carry high axial loads. They are usually used with oil lubrication.

Four row cylindrical roller bearing, having superior resistance to radial load, are suitable for use at a high-speed.Since the inner ring surface and the roll can be finished simultaneously after the inner ring is mounted on the roll neck (the inner ring raceway surface is grounded by a roll grinding machine, and then, the roll barrel is finished based on the grounded surface), rolling accuracy is improved. Additionally, residual clearance of the bearing can be adjusted freely.

Steels used for production comply with parameters of international standards set forth in CSN EN ISO 683-17 Standard Heat-Treated Steels. For production of bearing rings and rolling elements high quality materials of carefully selected manufacturer are used. Long-standing collaboration with suppliers guarantees permanent amelioration process of evaluating parameters of incoming materials.
Bearings are made of through-hardening bearing steel 100Cr6, 100MnSi6-4 or 100CrMo7.
Determinant quality parameters of steel and its processing have influence on bearing utility values, namely its resistance to fatigue damage, abrasion resistance and dimensional stability. They are:
Chemical composition and heat treatment:
Selection of bearing steel type and optimization of heat treatment conditions are made depending on component
dimension. Heat treatment technology guarantees stable hardness values of bearing components in entire profile.
Thus making it suitable for use up to 200C.
Content of non-metallic inclusions – micro purity:
Reduction of non-metallic inclusions content is a decisive quality parameter in bearing steel metallurgy advancement. FKL is using bearing steel with minimum oxygen content (5 to 10 ppm)
CARB and Spherical Roller Bearings in Steel Industry:
Spccific Use/Importance of CARB Bearings in Steel Industry:
CARB bearings are single row bearings with long, slightly barrel-shaped symmetrical rollers. The outer ring has a
torus-shaped raceway with a profile radius extending beyond the centre of the bearing. The inner ring raceway is
shaped accordingly.
Main factors which influence CARB bearing performance include:
Symmetrical rollers: Symmetrical rollers self-adjust, providing optimal load distribution along the roller length. keeps stresses low under
all load conditions and extends bearing service life.
Roller tolerances: The rollers in a CARB bearing are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances for dimension and form. Each roller is
virtually identical in size and shape to the other rollers in the set. This optimizes load distribution over the rollers to
maximize bearing service life.
Special roller profile: The roller profile determines the stress distribution in the roller/raceway contact area. The special profile distributes
loads more evenly along the rollers and prevents stress peaks at the roller ends to extend bearing service life.
Self-guiding rollers - Self-guiding rollers keep friction and frictional heat at low levels.

Specific Use/Importance of Sealed Spherical Roller Bearings in Steel Industry:
Spherical roller bearings are double row, self-retaining units comprising solid outer rings with a concave raceway, solid
inner rings and barrel rollers with cages. The inner rings have cylindrical or tapered bores. The symmetrical barrel
rollers orient themselves freely on the concave outer ring raceway. As a result, shaft flexing and misalignment of the
bearing seats are compensated.
