to make voyages for exploration and trade. Their

culture spread around the world.

MOVEMENT Europeans are wildly enthusiastic about soccer. Teams

and fans travel to matches held all over the world. In this game, held

during the 1998 World Cup matches, Germany played Italy.

PLACE The Eiffel Tower stands 984 feet above theParis skyline. It was completed in 1889 for an Inter-national Exposition celebrating the French Revolution.
