Parents are always helping their children prepare for something, whether that con-sists of getting ready for school, prepar-ing for an exam, or making preparations to go on vacation. In today's Gospel, Jesus prepares his disciples for his Pas-sion, death, and Resurrection. He prom-ises his Holy Spirit, gives them the gift of his peace, and tells them not to be troubled.

As a family, talk about the kinds of events that you have prepared for togeth-er; surgeries, funerals, vacations, and first days of school are some examples. Talk about why it is important to prepare for important events in our lives. Then read aloud this Sunday's Gospel: John 14:23-29. Talk about how Jesus prepared his disciples for his Death and Resurrec-tion and how he wanted them to be pre-pared for what would happen so that they would be able to believe.

Talk about how, as a family, you can prepare for Pentecost (only 2 weeks away), when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit, our Advocate.

How to NOT Crash & Burn During Finals (part 2) By Caitlin Dillon Duke h ps://bustedhalo.com/features/may-is-for-mary

Holyfamilyyakimayouth/ Holyfamilyyakimayouth/

Time Management It’s a skill that many (myself included) have to learn the hard way but proper time management is crucial. If the regular school year did not force you to manage your time wisely, then finals will do the trick. When the quota for assignments needed to be done for classes escalates, time seems to be like even more of a valuable resource than it usually is. Schedule out what you’re going to study when (this works even when it’s not fi-nals season). Instead of get-ting home and saying, “I’ll study later,” make a set time to study and mark out what you’re going to work on dur-ing that time. It will make your studying feel less like you’re floating aimlessly

through space and more like you have a set objec-tive and are taking actual steps towards accomplish-ing it. Another critical aspect of time management is knowing where/when are you most productive. While yes, I could write an essay while watch-ing The Office and texting my friends at the same time, I know that I’m not nearly as productive as I could be if I just focused on the task at hand with no distractions. Once you find out what settings you are most productive in, make efforts to be within that situation as much as you can. This requires a lot of honesty with yourself but figuring out which sur-roundings are best for you and working within said surroundings can help a tremendous amount.Keep it in Perspective During exam season, the overwhelming amount of things that need to get done create an unfortunate opportunity for Satan to feed us lies about how we feel about ourselves. Spiritual attack comes at us when we are at our weakest and when we’re at-tacked during times of extreme busyness, it ’s easy to ignore it because other things might seem more important. Nothing is more valuable than your well -

Children’s Ministries: PRESCHOOL -GRADE 5

In the Gospel reading today Jesus tells his disciples that he will be leaving them to go back to his Father. Jesus tries to help his friends understand that even though he is leaving them, he will always be with them. Jesus tells his disciples that they will not be left alone. The Father will send the Holy Spirit to help them remember all that Jesus has taught them. Jesus tells his disciples that he is leaving them with a very special gift, the gift of peace. The peace that Jesus gives his followers is different from the peace that the world has to give. The peace that Jesus gives lives in the hearts of believers forever. Jesus brings comfort and peace to his disciples by telling them that he will always be with them. Family Questions:

How can we thank Jesus for the gift of peace? How can we share the gift of peace with others? What helps us feel peaceful?

Are you, or someone you know who, interested in the Catholic faith and participating in the process of the

RCIA? Maybe you would like to complete your Sac-raments of Initiation. Inquiry provides the opportuni-

ty for you to ask questions about Catholicism and learn some of the basics of the faith. Our next meeting

is Tuesday, June 4th @ 7:00pm in the Church Hall Classroom. Please “Come and See” the richness and love that is offered through Christ and His Church.

For more information, please call Amy Baumgardner at the Adult Faith Formation office 966-5344 ext. 18 or email [email protected].
