Wisdom For Your Week

We all have tough days. When we are hurting, it can be too easy for us to forget that God’s love is all

around us. When you need it most, where do you find God’s love in your life?

Parish Book Club

The next choice for our Parish Book Club is The Nightingale. One of our

favorite authors, Kristin Hannah, captures the epic panorama of World

War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. Any and all are

welcome to join us on Feb. 20th at 6:30pm in O’Hara Hall at The Ascension Worship Site.

Please turn off your devices during

Mass This includes cell-phones, pagers, or

anything else that rings, beeps, or buzzes.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry

On Sunday, February 9th, The Prayer Shawl Ministry will have shawls and lap robes available at the 10am Mass

at The Ascension Worship Site and at the 10:30am Mass at The St. Elizabeth Worship Site. If you know someone who is ill or depressed and would like to

receive one, please feel free to take one.

Food Drive My name is Ava Pizzonia and I am

an 8th Grade student in the National Junior Honor Society. This year for my Independent

project I will be collecting non perishable food items for the Monmouth County food bank such as canned

items or boxed cereal. The collection will be the weekend of February 8th and 9th at the St. Elizabeth Worship Site. Thank you for helping me help others.

Theme of the Cohort Mission: Change Our Hearts: Our Lenten Prayer "Be careful what you allow to dwell in your heart." What good advice. What dwells in our hearts? Peace, joy, love, compassion, or resentment, anger, shame, feelings of unworthiness? Lent is a season for a change of heart. Our Cohort Mission focuses on the goal of a changed heart that loves more on Easter Sunday than on Ash Wednesday. Through prayer and celebration of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, we will reflect on God's gift of unconditional love and how we might receive it and allow it to shape our hearts and guide our lives. This is our Lenten Prayer: Change our Hearts.

Rachel's Vineyard Retreat February 28-March 1, 2020 As a pro-life people, our hearts ache for the millions of babies lost to abortion. However, little is heard about the tremendous emotional pain, regret and crippling remorse that many women and men experience following an abortion. These parents are also victims of a culture of death. They suffer a traumatic wound, with consequences that can last a lifetime. As a pro-life people, our hearts ache for them, too. Rachel's Vineyard is a weekend retreat that offers these wounded parents an opportunity to walk with Christ through the complex circumstances that led to abortion, as well as the devastating aftermath. Rachel's Vineyard also provides a blessed opportunity for parents to begin processing their grief, and

to memorialize their children. There is no judgement. There is just an atmosphere of fellowship, compassion, and healing. If an abortion is impacting you, please remember that our merciful Father in Heaven loves you, just as much as He loves your child. Come and experience His love and mercy for yourself.
