1. Make a Schedule/Plan

• When will you start contacting schools? Who will you contact? How are you going to contact them? What’s the schedule of the release of ads?

• Map out your game plan for recruitment• List down the dates and ways of when and

how you will do things

2. Make Calls

• Why make calls?– Know who is in charge of getting people to go to

your event– Know where you can advertise your event in their

school (website, newsletter, FB, bulletin board)– You sound more serious about your event

because you make the effort to extend yourself to their school

3. Send Emails/Advertisements

• Send them everywhere. It’s ok!• If you can’t get the email addresses of

schools/orgs, check if they have FB pages. Send them a message there before posting in their group.– It’s more legit if you have their school/org post

the event for you

4. Make those calls

• You probably skipped tip #2 and went straight to sending emails

• I know it can be intimidating at first to make calls. To help you out, you can draft out a script. You can read that when you make calls.

• You can also ask help from others who can make calls

5. Share what you know

• Share what you know to your co-pms and core team.

• Knowing how to recruit and convince people is a good skill to learn

• You’ll also have more people to help you with recruitment

• Pass on your brilliance

Personal Tips From Me

• Be in close contact with the people who attended the event last year. They know the work of Lex and can help you spread good word about BLC

• Find your friends from the schools you are contacting. Ask them to help.

• Be organized. Be OC. Be professional.• Follow your schedule.

Personal Tips From Me

• In one school, you can contact the administrators, student councils, your friends there, different associations, etc.

• Under-promise and then over-deliver.• Work hard. Work smart.• Smile

“If bad people aren’t afraid to do what they do, why should

you be afraid when you’re doing something good?” (your mentor’s mentor)

Final NoteI believe in your capabilities and your skills. You also

have good people around you to work with. There’s no doubt that all of you will come up with

one great project.

Don’t be afraid to “sell” your project to other schools and students. Sayang if they won’t be able to experience the awesome that you guys

will create.

You can do it! >:D<
