INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATIONISRO

Page 3: The outside world

Established in 1969, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) develops satellites, launch vehicles, sounding rockets, and associated ground systems and applies space technology to strategic fields such as telecommunications, meteorology, and natural resource management . When the Indian government launched the Space Commission and Department of Space in 1972, ISRO launched several space programmes. Its current operational space systems include Indian National Satellite (INSAT) for telecommunication, television broadcasting, meteorology, and disaster warning and Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS) for resource monitoring and management. ISRO has also developed Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles (PSLVs) and Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicles (GSLVs) to launch the IRS and INSAT satellites, respectively. ISRO's hardware and services are available commercially through Antrix Corporation.

Though associated with India's space programme, ISRO trains personnel from other countries and supports/sponsors global research in space science, technology, and application. With the United Nations' support, ISRO has established the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific, to conduct courses on remote sensing and geographic information systems, satellite meteorology, atmospheric sciences, and satellite communication. Its cooperation with the international space community was instrumental in the establishment of the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS), the conducting of the Satellite Instructional Television Experiment (SITE), and the launch of Aryabhata, Bhaskara, APPLE, IRS-1A, and IRS-1B satellites. Headquartered in Bengaluru, ISRO operates through country-wide centres: sensors and payloads are developed at the Satellite Application Centre in Ahmedabad; satellites are designed, developed, assembled, and tested at the ISRO Satellite Centre in Bengaluru; launch vehicles are developed at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram; launches take place in Sriharikota, near Chennai; master control facilities for satellite station-keeping are located in Hassan, near Bengaluru; and reception and processing facilities for remote sensing data are at the National Remote Sensing Agency in Hyderabad.

BROTHER OF EARTHKEPLER 456 B

Page 6: The outside world

It is a planet …………..Where the conditions are similar to earth…………

Scientists have discovered it recently…….Lets know about it.

Page 7: The outside world

Many researches are in progress to find about EXO-PLANETS. EXO-PLANETS means the planets which exist outside the solar system. Recently scientists have discovered a planet which is exactly similar to earth. NASA in 2009 sent a space craft called KEPLER to find about the existence of Exo-planets. Recently Kepler found an Exo planet which is similar in conditions with the conditions on earth. It was found 1400 light years away from the earth. The name of the planet is KEPLER 456 B. If we travel with a speed of light, that means 3,00,000kms/sec, it takes 1400 hundred years to reach the planet. When coming to the details of it, this planet is surrounded by clouds, mountains , plateaus and every thing similar to earth. Scientists , now came to conclusion that there are many reasons to say life exist on it. They found that it is 6 times bigger as compared to the size of the earth. They also found the gravitation on kepler 456 b is more than that on earth. It is revealed that Kepler 456 b is 150 crore years older than earth. since today kepler found 1030 exo planets. In them only a few are similar. But as in the case of Kepler 456 b it can be noticed as BROTHER OF EARTH. The planets founded by kepler starts with a prefix “Kepler.”

WE KNOW THAT THERE ARE NINE PLANETS IN THIS SOLAR SYSTEM. OF COURSE , RECENTLY PLUTO IS DISMISSED FROM THE LIST OF PLANETS FOR SOME WELL REASONS. IN THE REMAINING 8 PLANETS, MARS IS

THE FOURTH PLANET AFTER THE EARTH.
