The Lost Ten Commandments

Introduction

This paper shows that the traditional ten laws that are claimed to be ten commandments havebeen mistaken. The real commandments are found within the Books of Exodus andDeuteronomy and differentiate the law (torah), commandments (dabar), statutes (choq,chuqqah) and precepts (mitsvah, piqudim).

The ten commandments are ten words for application daily (continually). Translators havemisrepresented the ten commandments by selecting ten laws out of many divers laws. Thecommands are enablers. The ten commandments are clearly listed in scripture. They havenot been perceived by the minds eye that has been blinded by the wants of religiousinterpreters. The commandments are truly moralistically orientated and are imperative toconstructive a well balanced personality, a reflective attitude in Gods image. The law was tobe followed but the commandments are to be put into daily practice, the daily bread accordingto the day. They are deliverables. They are not donts but dos. They are not negatives butpositives. They require a questioning mind, native thinking, a transcendental movement - frombirth to a living inflective personification.

The ten commandments are listed in Exodus 25-30, and elaboration on whom thecommandments were given to is found in Deut. In the Annex, for easy reference, the wholetext from the King James Version is quoted with highlights. These highlighted phrases clarifythe instructive commands that distinguish these sayings from the prohibitive law torah.

According to Wikipedia, the ten traditional commandments were not given greater significancethan any of the hundreds of laws of the Torah and have been parsed in different ways by Jewish(Talmudic), Anglican Reformed and other Christian, Orthodox Christian and Roman Catholic,Lutheran churches. The word DABAR or words is used for both laws and commandments. But thecommandments are just ten. Laws are many and are described throughout many chapters.Clearly the texts emphasis the word ten:

Exd. 34:28 states And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the tencommandments. (Margin Heb. words see Youngs lexicon dabar).

Deut. 4: 12,13 states "And the Lord spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: Ye heard thevoice of the words, but saw no similitude; only you heard a voice. And he declared unto you hiscovenant which he commanded (tsavah) you to perform, even ten commandments (ten dabar = ten words); and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

Also Deut.10:4 "And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten

commandments (10 dabar = ten words) which the Lord spake unto you in the mount."There is no mention in the Bible of the law (torah) having ten words = ten dabar. Indeed thelaw did not have ten words. It is an atrocious indictment to highlight ten laws, amisrepresentation. The ten commandments are distinctive from the laws. Laws are numerous.

In regard to the laws, Israel had been given laws, the laws had to be kept somewhere. Thelaws could not be left in limbo, to waft on a summer breeze. The laws had to have a repositoryand that repository was known as a sanctuary. The laws could be housed in the literal temple,but the commandments, the implementation, had to be housed in the heart and mind, thestorehouse of the soul. The commandments could not be housed in the literal sanctuary. Allthe commandments are to make, not something that had to be abided by.

God said, "Let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them." The excellence of furnishing the heart and mind was likened to pristine man of Gen.1. This sublimity was said tohave been displaced when acquisition came to society. This law of love was written symbolicallyas "the tree of life, a very everyday symbol apposite to stifling acquisition. The commandmentswere to make man the tree of life.

Applying to the soul it is written, Happy is the man that findeth wisdom and the man that gettethunderstanding. She (the life-giver) is more precious than rubies. Her ways are the ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her:and happy is everyone that retaineth her." See Prov.3 & 15:4.

Selfishness, greed and love of power, deceit (oppression, or acquisitiveness compared to

caring) over others had polluted the original Sanctuary the true tabernacle which the Lordpitched, and not man." A modified procedure was devised to bring this desirable enjoinment tofruition in living society with the ten commandments to action within the soul temple.

The Mosaic law was a representation of transcendence and was placed in the tabernacle. Thetabernacle was a pattern, a picture, of the original abode of God's law creating and evolving all.That abode was the heavenly Temple, the soul Temple now reflected in mankind it was uponthe creation of consciousness that God was said to Rest. Mankind now became responsible to become the first-fruits. It is far removed from sinful psychology of not breaking laws.

With the building of the tabernacle/temple the commandments referred to the inner embellishment that was a necessity, not the Mosaic-Levitical law placed in the ark. Thetabernacle was always a pattern of the bodily temple the ultimate reflection of the attainmentof Rest. Adults cannot be children, obligated they have a ten step task to become enabling theanswer to be I am. Children quickly learn that they are, and can be. This is faithfulness, not

just a belief in faith alone. Faithfulness is often mistranslated as faith (not covered in thispaper) just as the law was mistaken for the commandments.

The inner temple furnishings and its sacrificial service was a tutorial legend as to the true pathof redeeming mankind that had fallen into symbolical Egyptian captivity. Later, and not in thepicture here, in Ezekiel we see the need again for a new covenant was offered as idols hadbeen worshipped. In the Gospel stories of one called Jesus, the old types met its antitype,when captivity and enslavement had clasped the soul under doctrinaires, theoretical andunpractical, of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Jesus was symbolical of the Temple and thetemple within each soul.

The commandments are all identified by the word make and they all relate to theembellishment of the sanctuary.

The word make is to bring to process, execute, labour, pass. Check out 6213 (asah) inStongs lexicon a prim. Root; to do widest application (as follows): - accomplish, advance,appoint,apt, be at, become, bear, bestow, bring forth, bruise, be busy, x certainly, have thecharge of, commit, deal (with), deck, + displeasure, do, (ready) dress (-ed), (put in) execut (-ion), exercise, fashion, + feast, [fight-] ing man, + finish, fit, fly, follow, fulfil, furnish, gather, get,go about, govern, grant, great, + hinder, hold ([a feast]), x indeed, + be industrious, + journey,keep, labour, maintain, make, be meet, observe, be occupied, offer, + officer, pare, bring(come) to pass, perform, practice, prepare, procure, provide, put, requite, x sacrifice, serve,set, shew, x sin, spend, x surely, take, x thoroughly, trim, x very, + vex, be [warr-] ior, work (-man), yield, use.

It is very plain that these words are not restrictive, sinful in nature. They are words of action, of implementation. They are words of guidance than the guide. They are the scout not thescoutmaster.

It is also worth noting 6214 (asahel) from 6213 and 410 (el) God has made short from 352strength; as adj. mighty. The commands are the inner strength, power the Almighty within.The intuition of mankind is to do, to make. It was a time when God was truly incarnate onearth, the baton had been passed, and it was time to run the good race. Being that maker isthe challenge we all face.

Details of the ten steps (ten commandments) that were given to set in order the inner building of the tabernacle, the heart and soul, are as follows:-

Make an ark of shittim wood Exd. 25:10-22

Make a mercy seat of pure gold Exd. 25: 17-22

Make altar of shittim wood Exd. 27:1-8 (In archetype the court and its trimmingsare without the temple, leave out, measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles...Rev. 11:2 (a subject not dwelt with here).

Make an altar to burn incense upon; of shittim wood shalt thou make it Exd. 30:1,6-8, 10.

To Whom w ere the Comm a ndment s Given

In Deut. 10.4 we are told the commandments were written on tables and at Deut. 10:13 thepeople given the commandments are told to keep the commandments of the Lord. But who arethese people, and why, at this point in time, were they given the commandments. We are told atDeut. 10:16 that it is to the temple of the soul that the commandments decreed Circumcisetherefore the foreskin of your heart. And there are many latter time examples of the same dos.

We are told to plainly to whom the commandments were given in this picture:

Deut. 10:19 for ye were strangers in the land of EgyptDeut. 10:22 Thy fathers went down to Egypt

It was given only to people whose mind and soul had been in captivity, recorded as Egyptian inthis picture...that did not know his statutes, his judgments and his commandments which havenot known. Over and over the escape from the captivity of the mind and heart, enables thechance of redemption, enables the commandments to be place first and foremost, enables aresurrected living soul. One has to leave past habits, doctrines, literalisms, manipulations andfind out for yourself, ten positives steps need to be taken.

All through Deuteronomy the message is repeated, but only to a certain select:

Deut. 11:3 which he did in the midst of EgyptDeut. 11:4 And what he did unto the army of EgyptDeut. 11:8 shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this dayDeut. 11:10 is not as the land of EgyptDeut. 11:14 rain of your land in due seasonDeut. 11:15 eat and be fullDeut. 13:5 which brought you out of the land of EgyptDeut. 13:10 which brought thee out of the land of EgyptDeut. 18:9 The seventh year, the year of releaseDeut. 15:12 then in the seventh year thou shall let him go free from theeDeut. 15:15 that thou were a bondman in the land of EgyptDeut. 16:1 God brought thee forth out of Egypt by nightDeut. 16:3 thou mayest remember the day when they camest forth out of the land of Egypt allthe days of thy lifeDeut. 16:6 at the season that thou camest forth out of EgyptDeut. 16:8 on the seventh day shall be a solemn assemblyDeut. 16:12 shall remember that thou wast a bondman in EgyptDeut. 17:16 nor cause the people to return to EgyptDeut. 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy GodDeut. 20:1 which brought thee out of the land of Egypt

You must have release to be able to apply the commandments. Without knowledge of deceit it isdifficult to reconstruct.

This picture clearly states that the commandments were only given to the people that hadescaped captivity. The commandments to build thy temple were not for all and sundry. Theywere specific instructions for those who had been completely dispossessed by confident, cocky,head-held-highers, in their right to rule by tyranny of deceit in other words, they had swallowed-up the people daily. A pattern of how to construct the creative-self was furnished to these people.The pattern of the construction of the Temples contents reflected, but never replaced thecontinuous necessary application. By implementing the commandments redemptionmaterialises, mankind is restored to dignity, an inherited right a gift, resurrected. Mans abilityto be Gods creative Rest was described as a land flowing with milk and honey.

Far removed from the retribution of not obeying prohibitive laws, the commands were all ongoing,budding, flowering, a free self-perception, dignified self-knowledge, of innate inherit ability suchperfection has no morning and evening, reflects the ultimate atonement of the final seventh-daycreation story, which had no morning and evening, but became eternal intuition constantlycontinuous. Just as Melchisedec without father, without mother, without descent, having neither the beginning of days, nor the end of life...abideth a priest continually and likewise Christ was apriest for ever after the order of Melchisedec Heb 5:6,10. There was to be no divisionbetween the heart and mind, no separate Holy place and no Holy of Holies.

The escapees from captivity had days of remembrance as special days to be remembered.Those not in such circumstances never had this Sabbath remembrance day, but the eternalSabbath of Rest to recollect. Thus the 4 th commandment is a moralistic ethic principle to make acandlestick of pure gold were the light shines, where darkness is no longer. It is far more than aremembrance, far more than dont break any law dictum, far more than keep the Sabbath, as itis a daily event - everyday, all-the-time, each day to be looked upon as a 1,000 yearsopportunity. So much can be done in a day. All the old falsifiers can be swept away allowing anew song to be sung today.

Deut. 5:3 states clearly that a covenant had not been made with earlier generations, as Godwas jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children until the third and fourthgeneration of them that hate me. The covenant had been withheld. Society imaginings,fixated ideas, or missionary desires, foster exclusiveness and judgmental inclination. Suchoverbearing behaviour fails the test, is reprimanded, and remands completely antithetical tothe creative holistic inheritance. I know, more than you know, became popular. To put itsimply, I am stated by Moses and Christ had been discarded. In Deut. we are told, The Lord

made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, who are all of us alive this day. Thecovenant was only with those alive this day who had escaped to freedom. They had no needto look back, as the daily events became all important.

Bondage in this story was typified as Egyptian, but becomes any imagination, literalism, anydwelling on small matters of dubious moral value. Morality is much more encompassing thantoken allegiance to just a few particular laws. Deut. 5 explains that I am the Lord thyGod...that brought thee out of the ....house of bondage. And to keep my commandments.For six days thou shalt labour, and all thy work and the seventh is Sabbath and on this dayremember that thou was a servant in the land of Egypt...the Lord thy God brought thee thencethrough a mighty hand and by stretched out arm...therefore keep the Sabbath day. Thissabbath was a remembrance of bondage. Such bondage had never been known in the archaic

worlds pristine age. There is a remembrance Sabbath for the unbonded which is the RestSabbath, upon the creation of dextrous mankind when God said all was accomplished.

Religion at denominational level holds to beliefs of a particular cult, institution or church andmisses the point that mankind must be free of all indoctrinations to join a world covenant.Johns last message to churches clearly warns all that such denominationalisms lead tofailure, abuse any unwarranted angst. There is no need for graven instituted images,literalisms, historicity, nor judgmentalisms grounded on fixated clichs, endless duplicity andritual repetition. It is time to move on as Hebrews 6:1-2 states Therefore leaving theprinciples (margin word of the beginning) of the doctrine of Christ, let us go into perfection;not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith towards God. Of the doctrine of baptisms, and the laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead, and of

eternal judgment.Just as in Genesis mankind, in the image of God, had been made, the escape from bondagewas homogenous, relative in every way to the story in Genesis - mankind was freely createdand evolved from sacred days that knew no acquisitiveness. The covenant could only be tothose free of all bondage they had experience of denial, deceit. Graven theocraticimperfections need no longer be placed on stone.

The Fourth Comm a ndment Mak e a Ca ndle s tic k of Pure Gold

The fourth commandment Make a candlestick of pure gold and the traditionally alleged pseudofourth commandment Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy are differentiated in contextfrom scriptural references.

The majority of Christians keep Sunday as the day of worship based on the 4 th tablet lawRemember the Sabbath and keep it holy. Wikipedia states, this law sabbath recalls the newcreation inaugurated by the Resurrection of Christ. This is absolutely not so. Christianity thinks itis centre stage but lacks the depth to play the part. Later generations were offered a newcovenant, a new beginning if they would turn from their idolatrous ways. Christ offered a newcovenant, a new messianic start, to the laws of the Pharisees and civil administration of theSadducees.

In the scripture writings the 4 th commandment was to make a candlestick of pure gold referringto ability to create light by verity within the soul, by the free person, the accomplisher. Once lightshines, brightness is followed, by elaboration and decoration a new creation, which themessianic movement fulfils in each epoch the new Ararat. That light is yet to shine today.

The symbol of the candlestick and light within is a symbol used throughout scripture. Someexamples suffice:

The light was symbolised by the words I am. And God said unto Moses I am that I am Exd.3:14 and Thus shalt thou say...I AM hath send me. No names were needed, as responsibilityhad been honoured. I AM hath sent me unto you. Yes I AM. And Jesus said unto them,

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58....As long as I am in theworld I am the light of the world. John 9:5. One has to make to be in the world, and themaking of the MAKER...that is all one can say.

When Pharaoh said to Moses who are you to tell me to let the people go. Moses said I am noteloquent (man of words). Moses did not humble himself before the pharaoh and say I amMoses sir. He said I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue. But Moses had the rod of iron.The question today is Can we let the traditional ten commandments go? Are we ready to moveon?

The commandments are a type for edification, for teaching for training. The commandments tomake cannot be glorified with different application to each individual depending oncircumstance of the day and it was sabbath day when Jesus made the clay and opened hiseyes. He was holding the eternal Sabbath in what he was doing. And he came that they mayhave life more abundantly. Rise up for the resurrection come out of her my people.

Lighting the C a ndle s tic k

The difference between the Law and Commandments would solidify in scripture writings thistribulation which we now turn to final comprehension.

The setting in order the building of the tabernacles furnishings are the steps each individualneeds to perform during a lifetime to furnish the true temple which through commandments, not

laws, becomes attainable. The ancient writers were not in this instance pointing to the laws butbecoming, as a fully furnished tabernacle.

The Levitical law had been abolished for it was a figure for time then present. For the law havinga shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with sacrificeswhich they offered year by year continually make the comers thereto perfect. Heb. 10:1 For the law made nothing perfect Heb. 7:19. I will put my laws into their mind Heb. 8:10. I willput my laws into their hearts Heb. 10:16. But though shall be judged by the law of liberty Jas. 2:11. For whoever shall keep the whole law...but offend...thou art become a transgressor of the law Jas. 2:10,11.

Whilst the commandments are discredited the way into the holiest of all was not yet mademanifest, whilst the first tabernacle was yet standing. Heb. 9:8. The law was a figure for thetime then present. But Christ, by a more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands entered into

the holy place.

In the end new Jerusalem is established, there is no temple: Rev. 21:22 I saw no templetherein: for the Lord for the temple can be mankind. And it was stated:

Rev.18:23 the light of the candlestick shall shine no moreRev. 21:24 the nations...shall walk in the light of itRev. 22:5 they need no candle, neither light of the sunRev. 22:2 on either side of the river, and there was a tree of life....and the leaves are for healing.

25:40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.

26:1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet:with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

26:2 The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and everyone of the curtains shall have one measure.

26:3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one toanother.

26:4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; andlikewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.

26:5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is inthe coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

26:6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be onetabernacle.

26:7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thoumake.

26:8 The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the elevencurtains shall be all of one measure.

26:9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixthcurtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.

26:10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops inthe edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

26:11 And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that itmay be one.

26:12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over thebackside of the tabernacle.

26:13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtainsof the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

26:14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers' skins.

26:15 And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.

26:16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.

26:17 Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all theboards of the tabernacle.

26:18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.

26:19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his twotenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.

26:20 And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards: 26:21 And their forty

sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.26:22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.

26:23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

26:24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto onering: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

26:25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, andtwo sockets under another board.

26:26 And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

26:27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of thetabernacle, for the two sides westward.

26:28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.

26:29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shaltoverlay the bars with gold.

26:30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.

26:31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: withcherubims shall it be made:

26:32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, uponthe four sockets of silver.

26:33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of thetestimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

26:34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

26:35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of thetabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

26:36 And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen,wrought with needlework.

26:37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooksshall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.

27:1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood , five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall befoursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

27:2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shaltoverlay it with brass.

27:3 And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and hisfirepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.

27:4 And thou shalt make for it a grate of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brasen rings in thefour corners thereof.

27:5 And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar.

27:6 And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass.

27:7 And the staves shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it.

27:8 Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it.

27:9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for thecourt of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side: 27:10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twentysockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

27:11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twentypillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

27:12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

27:13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

27:14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

27:15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

27:16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and finetwined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

27:17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.

27:18 The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubitsof fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

27:19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court,shall be of brass.

27:20 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to causethe lamp to burn always.

27:21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shallorder it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

28:1 And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he mayminister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.

28:2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

28:3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they maymake Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

28:4 And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broideredcoat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he mayminister unto me in the priest's office.

28:5 And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.

28:6 And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunningwork.

28:7 It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together.

28:8 And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

28:9 And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel:

28:10 Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.

28:11 With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones withthe names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold.

28:12 And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

28:13 And thou shalt make ouches of gold;

28:14 And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shalt thou make them, and fasten the wreathenchains to the ouches.

28:15 And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shaltmake it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.28:16 Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadththereof.

28:17 And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz,and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row.

28:18 And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.

28:19 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.

28:20 And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their inclosings.

28:21 And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like theengravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.

28:22 And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends of wreathen work of pure gold.

28:23 And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of thebreastplate.

28:24 And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate.

28:25 And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in the two ouches, and put them on theshoulderpieces of the ephod before it.

28:26 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the breastplate in theborder thereof, which is in the side of the ephod inward.

28:27 And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath,toward the forepart thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.

28:28 And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that itmay be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod.

28:29 And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when hegoeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.

28:30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron'sheart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heartbefore the LORD continually.

28:31 And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

28:32 And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work roundabout the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.

28:33 And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, roundabout the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:

28:34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about.

28:35 And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy placebefore the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

28:36 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TOTHE LORD.

28:37 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.

28:38 And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted beforethe LORD.

28:39 And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt makethe girdle of needlework.

28:40 And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thoumake for them, for glory and for beauty.

28:41 And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecratethem, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

28:42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs theyshall reach:

28:43 And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation,or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be astatute for ever unto him and his seed after him.

29:1 And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office: Takeone young bullock, and two rams without blemish,

29:2 And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.

29:3 And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams.

29:4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt washthem with water.

29:5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, andthe breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod: 29:6 And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head,

and put the holy crown upon the mitre.29:7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

29:8 And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them.

29:9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's officeshall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.

29:10 And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and hissons shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock.

29:11 And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

29:12 And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour allthe blood beside the bottom of the altar.

29:13 And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that is above the liver, and the twokidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.

29:14 But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sinoffering.

29:15 Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

29:16 And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and sprinkle it round about upon the altar.

29:17 And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces,and unto his head.

29:18 And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, anoffering made by fire unto the LORD.

29:19 And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

29:20 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon thetip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, andsprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.29:21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, andupon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, andhis garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

29:22 Also thou shalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul abovethe liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of consecration:29:23 And one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened breadthat is before the LORD: 29:24 And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons; and shaltwave them for a wave offering before the LORD.

29:25 And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweetsavour before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

29:26 And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron's consecration, and wave it for a wave offering before theLORD: and it shall be thy part.

29:27 And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved,and which is heaved up, of the ram of the consecration, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that which is for his

sons:29:28 And it shall be Aaron's and his sons' by a statute for ever from the children of Israel: for it is an heave offering:and it shall be an heave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their heaveoffering unto the LORD.

29:29 And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated inthem.

29:30 And that son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days, when he cometh into the tabernacle of thecongregation to minister in the holy place.

29:31 And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and seethe his flesh in the holy place.

29:32 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket by the door of thetabernacle of the congregation.

29:33 And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them: but a

stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.29:34 And if ought of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remain unto the morning, then thou shalt burnthe remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.

29:35 And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, according to all things which I have commanded thee:seven days shalt thou consecrate them.

29:36 And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, whenthou hast made an atonement for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.

29:37 Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy:whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy.

29:38 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually.

29:39 The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:

29:40 And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourthpart of an hin of wine for a drink offering.

29:41 And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning,and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

29:42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of thecongregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

29:43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

29:44 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons,to minister to me in the priest's office.

29:45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

29:46 And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt , that I maydwell among them: I am the LORD their God.

30:1 And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon : of shittim wood shalt thou make it.30:2 A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall bethe height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.

30:3 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the hornsthereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.

30:4 And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sidesof it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.

30:5 And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.

30:6 And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over thetestimony, where I will meet with thee.

30:7 And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incenseupon it.

30:8 And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORDthroughout your generations.

30:9 Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drinkoffering thereon.

30:10 And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto theLORD.

30:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 30:12 When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that therebe no plague among them, when thou numberest them.

30:13 This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD.

30:14 Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give anoffering unto the LORD.

30:15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offeringunto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

30:16 And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of thetabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make anatonement for your souls.


30:18 Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it betweenthe tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

30:19 For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:

30:20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or whenthey come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:

30:21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even

to him and to his seed throughout their generations.30:22 Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

30:23 Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half somuch, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,

30:24 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:

30:25 And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall bean holy anointing oil.

30:26 And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony,

30:27 And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense,

30:28 And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot.

30:29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.

30:30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest'soffice.

30:31 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughoutyour generations.

30:32 Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it isholy, and it shall be holy unto you.

30:33 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off fromhis people.

30:34 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweetspices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight: 30:35 And thou shalt make it a perfume, aconfection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy: 30:36 And thou shalt beat some of itvery small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shallbe unto you most holy.

30:37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the compositionthereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.

30:38 Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.


31:2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in allmanner of workmanship,

31:4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

31:5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

31:6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of allthat are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

31:7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and allthe furniture of the tabernacle,

31:8 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,

31:9 And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,

31:10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,

31:11 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee shallthey do.


31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign betweenme and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put todeath: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD : whosoever doeth anywork in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations,for a perpetual covenant.

31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,and on the seventh day he rested , and was refreshed.

31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

11:6 And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:

11:7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.

11:8 Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day , that ye may be strong, and go inand possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;

11:9 And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them andto their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

11:10 For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt , from whence ye came out, wherethou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:

11:11 But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:

11:12 A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from thebeginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

11:13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day,to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

11:14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season , the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayestgather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

11:15 And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full .

11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, andworship them;

11:17 And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and thatthe land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

11:19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thouwalkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

11:25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dreadof you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

11:26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

11:27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

11:28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way whichI command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

11:29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest topossess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.

11:30 Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites,

which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?11:31 For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shallpossess it, and dwell therein.

11:32 And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.

12:1 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thyfathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.

12:2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon thehigh mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:

12:3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew downthe graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

12:4 Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.

12:5 But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even untohis habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:

12:6 And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:

12:7 And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye andyour households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.

12:8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

12:9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.

12:10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and whenhe giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;

12:11 Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

12:12 And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your

menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.

12:13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:

12:14 But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings,and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

12:15 Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according tothe blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of theroebuck, and as of the hart.

12:19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.

12:20 When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eatflesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.

12:21 If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shaltkill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thygates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.

12:22 Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of themalike.

12:23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.

12:24 Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.

12:25 Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do thatwhich is right in the sight of the LORD.

12:28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy childrenafter thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.

12:29 When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, andthou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;

12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee;and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have theydone unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.

12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, whichthou hast not known, and let us serve them;

13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your Godproveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and yeshall serve him, and cleave unto him.

13:5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you awayfrom the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt , and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put theevil away from the midst of thee.

13:6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which isas thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

13:7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the oneend of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;

13:8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare,neither shalt thou conceal him:

13:9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

13:10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORDthy God , which brought thee out of the land of Egypt , from the house of bondage.

13:11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.

13:12 If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,13:13 Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

13:14 Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain,that such abomination is wrought among you;

13:15 Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all thatis therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

13:16 And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, andall the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

13:17 And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thyfathers;

13:18 When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I commandthee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.

14:1 Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

14:2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar peopleunto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

14:3 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

14:4 These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,

14:5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and thechamois.

14:6 And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among thebeasts, that ye shall eat.

14:7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as thecamel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean untoyou.

14:8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.

14:9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:

14:10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.

14:11 Of all clean birds ye shall eat.

14:13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,

14:14 And every raven after his kind,

14:16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,

14:17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,14:18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

14:19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.

14:20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat.

14:21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that hemay eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God.

14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

14:23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, thetithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn tofear the LORD thy God always.

14:24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee,which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

14:25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which theLORD thy God shall choose:

14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thoushalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

14:27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it upwithin thy gates:

14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, andthe widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless

thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.15:1 At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.

15:2 And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; heshall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release.

15:3 Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;

15:4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORDthy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:

15:5 Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandmentswhich I command thee this day.

15:6 For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thoushalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

15:7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thyGod giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:

15:8 But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which hewanteth.

15:9 Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand;and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee,and it be sin unto thee.

15:10 Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

15:11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine handwide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

15:12 And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then inthe seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.

15:13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:

15:14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewiththe LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.15:15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt , and the LORD thy God redeemedthee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.

15:16 And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house,because he is well with thee;

15:17 Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.

15:18 It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a doublehired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.

15:21 And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice itunto the LORD thy God.

16:1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORDthy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

16:2 Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto the LORD thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place whichthe LORD shall choose to place his name there.

16:3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the breadof affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thoucamest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.

16:4 And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.

16:5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee:

16:6 But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice thepassover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.

16:7 And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: and thou shalt turn in themorning, and go unto thy tents.

16:8 Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD thyGod: thou shalt do no work therein .

16:9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnestto put the sickle to the corn.

16:10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand,which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
