The Property A beautifully presented Grade II listed 4 bedroom detached thatched cottage dating back from the mid 19th century but reputed to be much older. The cottage has a brick plinth, mainly rendered elevations relieved by stone dressings, under a thatched ridged roof. In recent times the Old Post Office has undergone a programme of complete refurbishment and restoration and now offers a comfortable and versatile accommodation. The Old Post Office was last used as a village post office in the 1960's and since then has been carefully restored as a family home, keeping much of its original character and charm. The property carries a Grade II listing and it is of special architectural and historical interest. Particular features include the fine drawing room with an inglenook fireplace, a delightful split level reception hallway, a large Amdega conservatory and a very well presented Smallbone kitchen. The four bedrooms have two bathrooms en-suite and two en-suite shower rooms.

Outside The Old Post Office is set on a site that extends to

approximately 3/4 of an acre. The gardens are an outstanding feature, enjoying a southerly aspect. The beautifully landscaped gardens are a typical traditional cottage garden style with abundance of well stocked flower and shrub borders. There is a large expanse of well maintained lawn leading to a central terrace with a pergola. Wealth of specimen trees and shrubs leading to a tranquil pond surrounded by wildlife meadow. There is a secure driveway with electric double entrance gates that leads to a courtyard where there is space to park several vehicles.

Situation The village of Witchampton is a conservation area in which a strict planning policy has ensured that the area has retained its character. The village itself once formed part of the neighbouring Crichel Estate over parts of which villagers' enjoy rights of way and its houses are mainly 17th and 18th century. Situated well away from main roads it is never the less easily accessible to the nearby towns and shopping centres at Wimborne, Blandford, Poole, Bournemouth and Salisbury. As well as neighbouring villages.
