What is a Wingman?
The term Wingman stems
from a time-honored tradition
within the Air Force. . . that
essentially says a lead pilot
will never lose his or her
Wingman. It’s a promise, a
pledge, a commitment. . .
Wingman Culture affirms that
each and every person is es-
sential to our mission.
U.S. Tinker Air Force Base,
Midwest, OK

Oilton High School received the "2012 College Readiness Award" from the ACT Southwest Region for increasing the number of students taking the ACT Assessment over the past five years and significantly increasing their level of achievement and college readiness. ACT, Inc. is the non-profit organization that provides assessment, research, information, and program management services in the broad areas of education and workforce develop-ment and the publisher of the ACT Assessment. The ACT Assessment is the college admission test that is used and accepted by all colleges nationwide and throughout Oklahoma. In 2012, over 80% of Oklahoma graduating high school seniors took the ACT, which is the predominant college admission and readiness achieve-ment test in Oklahoma. According to Karen L. Pennell, Assistant Vice President and ACT Southwest Regional Manager: "The ACT Southwest Region wanted to recognize those Oklahoma high schools that have made significant strides in increasing the college readiness of their graduates as demonstrated by their ACT score increases over the past five years. This can happen as a result of the high school's faculty and staff efforts and the dedication of Oilton High School students and parents to focus on college and career readiness and raise the level of academic readiness for all students. Only 66 high schools in Oklahoma were honored for this superior level of accomplishment which represents 11% of all Oklahoma high schools. These outstanding Oklahoma high schools should be proud of their faculty, staff, and students! Congratulations!
Keystone Food Service
Oilton Public Schools recently partnered with Keystone Food Service to provide its food service
and manage the daily operation of the child nutrition department for the district. Keystone Food
Service is a food service management company headquartered in Stillwater, OK. Keystone Food
Service has been specializing in serving fraternities and sororities at both Oklahoma State Universi-
ty and the University of Oklahoma.
In order to work with Keystone Food Service, Oilton Public Schools began the long and difficult
process of following federal procurement regulations to secure a bid. Once the process was final-
ized, Keystone Food Service took over the daily operation of breakfast and lunch duties on Mon-
day, October 8, 2012.
Keystone Food Service specializes in preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals from scratch by
using fresh products, not food that is pre-processed, pulled from a box and then cooked.
Keystone Food Service has brought new excitement to our food service department. We look for-
ward to continuing our partnership with Keystone Food Service to provide breakfast and lunch for
our students at Oilton Public Schools.
Special thanks to:
Mr. Posey, Superintendent and High School Principal and Mr. Woodson, Timothy C. Arnold Elementary School Principal. Also, thanks to Mrs. Jennie Purvis for submitting the 4H story.
