"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord." (Psalm 150:6) May we all continue to exalt our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…

Greetings and Praise the Lord to our Honorable Diocesan Bishop James W. Gaiters, to our prestigious Ohio District Council Officers, Board of Directors, Members and Saints of the great Ohio District Council.

I would like to give honor and gratitude to each and every member of our great council. What a spirit of tenacity that prevails in you. It is being displayed in your spiritual, physical, and financial support of such a great august body of believers.

I say to you, as Paul said to the Philippian Church (Phil. 4:18), your support is “an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.” To District Elder Tony Williams and Lady Monique Williams, and the Saints of the River of Life Church of Euclid, Ohio, what a wonderful display of love and service you rendered to everyone at the April Council. Thank you and God bless you, to God be the glory. May God continue to keep and bless each and every one of us as we look forward to another great council session on our Hallowed Hills campground in Zanesville, Ohio. Praise the Lord! I greet you in the saving name of Jesus Christ.

“Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold I say unto you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” (John 4:35)

The fact that God came into this world as His own Son and died as the Lamb of God should tell us that the souls of men are extremely valuable to God, so much so that it cost Him Hislife to retrieve those souls that are lost. Does it not make sense, then, that if the souls of men and women are worth more than gold to God, this should mean something very important toHis Church. But we are not born into this life and then born into God’s church with an innate desire to win souls for Jesus…it’s an acquired taste.I remember a young man playing football who was hit so hard on a certain play that he was dazed. It was then that the assistant to the coach reached into his pocket and got a small vialof “smelling salts.” When he placed it under the boy’s nose and squeezed it, ammonia and other chemicals were released. The sensation and sharp pain brought him around to the reality of the game that he was in. What will it take to bring us, the people of God, around to the realization that if a dying soul is valuable enough for God to send His Son to die atCalvary, it also should be valuable enough for us to win that soul for His kingdom? Wouldn’t it be great if all the people that God wanted to be saved would be sitting in the pews when we arrived at church? Some will get saved by just attending church, but thereality of winning souls is not quite that easy. Our Lord said it this way: “Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” (Luke 14:23b) The truth is that we should prayerfully have plan and design to aggressively seek to win souls for God’s Kingdom. Let us go after them… not waiting for them to attend our church services… and compel them with prayer, food, programs for their children, counseling, and whatever else it may take to win them and disciple them for the kingdom ofGod. By His Grace,

Bishop James W. Gaiters, Sr.
