Work to date
Survey of current practiceSurvey of the evidence base/narrative reviewWorking parallel to Offender Health Research Network’s programme to develop a data-set for CJLD interventions
Key findings from narrative review (1)
Need for clear inter and intra-agency shared definitions of Liaison and DiversionL&D should be developed as part of local cross-agency pathways, not isolated servicesNeed for post diversion infrastructure, underpinned by a collective commissioning strategyL&D services should be accessible when required by clients and not constrained by established staff working patterns
Key findings from narrative review (2)
Individuals and their behaviours should not be inappropriately pathologisedNeed for minimum data sets on both activity and outcomes, and agreed outcome measuresNeed for a consistent skill mix and training that combines knowledge and skills from CJS, health, wider public and independent sectors
