The NKHD • Is a local independent health department

• They operate independently of the Kentucky Department of Public Health in Frankfort.

• They service Boone, Campbell, Kenton and Grant County offering additional programs that are not mandated statewide.

• They set their own salaries and position classifications for staffing and hiring.

• The director reports to the independent board of health.

• The Northern Kentucky District Board of Heath has appointed Lynne M. Saddler, M.D., MPH, as District Director of Health. She is expected to begin work on September 1, 2010.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Monitoring and maintain tobacco cessation facebook site

• Assist in development of tobacco text message program

• Made ads and movies • Grew from 55 fans and 34 monthly active

users to 204 fans and 926 monthly active users

2010 Workplace Tobacco Policy Survey • Partnered with the University of Kentucky

College of Nursing • Phone interviews with Human Resource

manager/director and took about 10 minutes to complete.

• Purpose was to collect workplace policy data for planning and monitoring change over time, to lay the groundwork for helping manufacturers with tobacco policy change, and to recruit partners for NKHD’s tobacco prevention and cessation coalition.
