Coravin Glass Pour
For centuries, the cork had to be removed in order to enjoy a glass of wine - that era is over!
The CORAVIN system keeps the cork in the bottle while you explore the finest wines by the glass.
The wine that remains in the bottle will continue to evolve naturally
125 ml Glass
William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru ‘Les Preuses’ 2005, $35.00 Les Preuses is taken from the word "Perreuse" -, the name given to the ancient Roman road which ran below the current vineyard. Made for ageing thanks to a dense, compact, clay-rich soil resting on a limestone bed. Floral notes on the nose, with fruit driven hints enhanced by intense mineral notes and lightly smoky touches. Very rounded on the palate, but also full-bodied yet elegant. 2005 was a very healthy vintage producing full bodied wines, with grapes of high maturity levels which conferred an undeniable richness. On the nose the wines can be described as having a great aromatic purity and a very refined minerality. The mouth, very round and concentrated but with a preserved freshness, is perfectly balanced
Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese 2004, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer $32.00 The Rieslings from Egon Müller are widely recognised as amongst the very best in Germany today. He has just under 8 hectares of vines in the world-famous Scharzhofberg vineyard. Grapes are hand-harvested and then pressed without any skin contact before being fermented in large, 1000 litre oak casks in the natural, cool and deep cellars. The wines are usually bottled 6 months later. Müller`s sweet Rieslings are arguably the finest in Mosel.
Vinoptima Gewurtraminer 2004, Gisborne $22.00 Golden in colour and exhibiting luscious aromas of lychees, melon fruits & scented honey. Aromatic, fruits and spices with intense fruit sweetness, yet finishing drier than would be expected. Tropical fruit flavours, accentuated by pineapple and mandarin orange to shine through. Perfectly balanced with delicate spicy accents of nutmeg and vanilla.
La Forge de Tart 2004, 1er Cru $45.00 Clos de Tart has for long been one of the best of the grands crus, and made particularly excellent wines in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Today Clos de Tart has few peers, even among the great wines of Vosne and Gevrey. Medium colour. Still youthful. A little dry tannin on the nose, but fresh and succulent enough underneath. Medium body.
Château Gruaud Larose 1989 – 2nd Growth – 89 / 100 $75.00
St.Julien is the smallest of the major Bordeaux appellations in the Medoc with 910 hectares under vine. On average, 450,000 cases of wine are produced each year in Saint Julien. As far as classified growths in the Medoc goes, the St. Julien appellation has the highest ratio of classified terroir of
any Bordeaux region. Barnyard notes with herbs and some fruit. Light for Gruaud.
Peter Lehmann ‘Stonewell’ Shiraz 2001, Barossa Valley, South Australia $35.00 Stonewell Shiraz – first made in 1987 – has one guiding principle: to be Peter Lehmann’s best shiraz of vintage. A bright, healthy red colour, with fragrant blackberry and mocha oak aromas; the palate is very fresh and lively, with particularly good length and aftertaste.
Château La Tour Blanche 2007, 1er Cru Classé, Appellation Sauternes Contrôlée $23.00 Harvested by "tries" require 5 to 6 passages in the same rank, in order to get only the best of the Noble rot. Each vintage is vinified and raised in entirely new french oak barrels, and is matured from 20 to 24 months. Thick, rich, sweet, fat and intense, the wine displays a beautiful, nutty, tropical fruit, pineapple, apricot, vanilla custard and honeyed character. Sweet, juicy and delicious

Champagne
I drink it when I’m happy and when I’m sad
Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone.
When I have company, I consider it obligatory.
I trifle with it if I’m hungry and drink it when I am
Otherwise, I never touch it, unless I’m thirsty.
